Thank you very much.

I don't know about other women but I like to be seen for more than just looks, brains or voice. A mixture of all 3 would be nice, if notice is necessary. I also want respect & appreciation. That's all.
As a woman, I just want to be appreciated for being a person and not an object, arm candy, or subordinate.
You are so right, lady TT and lady EquineAnn! I think it is important for women to be valued as partners and respected as a human being. Many of us are independent and it would be great if more men appreciated women like that, for who we are and not just what we can give to them, or do for them.
Perfect!

Hi, all women are different and each one of us wants different things. Personally I want a man who loves me unconditionally without any judgement, who treats me as his equal and his partner in life, one who tells me the truth and doesn't feel the need to lie to me, one who will work as hard as I do to make our home better, one who has compassion towards others and is not afraid to show their emotions, and especially a man who treats me with respect and love. A physical relationship is not important to me if I have that from my husband. Luckily I've found him and we have been married for almost 20 years! I do hope each lady finds someone to treat them as they should be treated! Blessings

women need love and money and guys needs sex, food, football, and beer.
that is what an Alabama redneck would say anyway.

Why limit it to Alabamians? This sounds like most men.

Well folks. We finally got the answer to what women want. Straight from the horse's mouth.

It was odd to hear Pete's game described as boring as it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen on court. Sampras moved like a panther. I was always stunned at how he got to the ball without any effort. He never looked rushed and he always looked determined.
Did I tell you that I went to see him in person? It was the year that Canas was on fire. He had just beat Federer twice in a row and it appeared he was too hot to handle. Pete was in the midst of his slump, so nobody expected much. I was ten minutes late getting to the stadium and had to wait for them to take a break.
While I was waiting I was yelling and cheering my fool head off. My son was so embarrassed, but I explained to him that you don't get many instances where it's OK to scream in public, but when you do, you should take advantage, which I did.
This lady told me that ever since I had came and started cheering loudly for Pete, he had picked up his game (taking a bow).
Anyway, the parking lot was so full and the atmosphere was electric. Pete started winning and I went to the restroom. People were so excited. This lady was telling me, "Oh my Pete is doing so well, I am so happy for him." She kept rambling on and then she stopped and said, "You are voting for Pete, aren't you?" To which I replied, "naturally."
Pete was my guy without a doubt.
And Andy, I've always liked him. He just seems like such a nice guy. I love his sense of humor too, and I enjoy watching him dissect a match. He's so fast and effortless that I think some people actually miss what he's doing. I had been waiting for him to win a major for so long, but I never lost hope. I knew he would do it and I'm delighted about it.
Federer? I recognize him as a great player despite the H2H, but I do sense too much vanity. I don't care for vanity. And I never liked the way he talked about his opponents in the press. Never could warm up to him, but still, I wish him well.
Hating strangers is just dumb.
It was said that because Sampras would win fairly easily against his opponents, people would find him boring. Even in Slam finals, he only had to play one 5 setter against Goran at Wimbledon but rest of his Slam finals were settled in 3 or 4 sets.
Are you talking about the Cincinnati masters in 2002 by any chance? I know Canas was hot and heavy around that time and that was a very tight encounter as well, but did you know Canas was found guilty for doping and was suspended for 2 years from ATP? Later they withdrew their case as they were prescribed medicine but nonetheless, it was quite controversial at that time.
It's great that you'd watched him live. I was very involved with Pete's career and probably watched most of his matches - live and got a lot of slack for it from family since I was probably a bit obsessed with it. lol
When I went to watch Andy in 2010 Rogers Cup in Toronto, I too was late in the match and had to wait about 10/15 minutes before I could sit down. He played Nadal in that semi and then went to beat Federer in the final.
In 2008, I didn't get to see Andy but I did see Federer vs Malisse and was rooting for Mailsse as if there was no tomorrow. I was surrounded by Federer fans as usual but who cares about that, really. lol and then in 2010, I was surrounded by Nadal fans lol. I wonder what it will be this time. Couldn't make 2012 and besides, Andy withdrew after winning the 2nd round and the constant rain delays really spoiled most of the event anyway.
On Beyond The Glory, Jim Courier said that it was a deliberate ploy to write about Sampras's style as boring. The media wanted to hype up Andre and Pete was in the way.
Yes, it was the Cincinnati tourney. That's our tournament for the Midwest. People from Ohio, Ky, Indiana, Detroit, and Chicago attend this Master's. I also knew about Canas and how the allegations weren't true.
Andy is one of the few top players that I haven't seen.
Thus far I have seen Pete, Nadal, Federer, Baghdatis, Hewitt, Canas, Moya, Roddick, Kohlschrieber, Serena, Jankovic, and others that I can't remember.
I can't wait for the next time.

you might be right emma. women cant go wrong if they want the following from their men:
1. attention
2. loving care
3. honesty and integrity
4. intelligence and great sense of humor
5. good jobs
6. fitness
7. good looks
8. highly educated
That's perfect! :).

so what is the verdict:
what do women want?
Agape love. The real thing, without compromise.

I loved Sampras too. Just the way he played and moved around the court still amazes me. He would be at the baseline one minute and at the net in the next, and you almost wouldn't even see him transition. Just an amazing player to watch. I loved his personality too; unassuming, yet totally confident. An amazing man.
Andy is such a tactician, a magician if you will. He's so good at what he does that many people miss the nuances of his game. He plays tennis like an analyst, like someone who understands the game on a very base level. It's like he knows what to do in a given moment.
I prefer watching Andy play the other Big 3, because that's when you can really enjoy his game. I love his personality and humor too. He seems like a genuinely nice person.
So, for me it's the way the play the game, and the way they talk about the game they play.
I like the game first too and personality comes second to me but I can't warm up to a player who I find a bit too self-centered I suppose. But mind you, I am not judging Federer based on who he truly is because all I know, he could be a wonderful person in real life. I am only taking what I see on court and in the presser. But my dislike of him is nothing intense by any means. There were lots of times when I ended up rooting for him and even felt for him on occasions. I do believe he's a great player despite negative H2H vs Nadal. He's done a lot to get overshadowed by just one H2h.
And yes, it's always lovely to watch Andy vs the top 3 as he tends to bring his best if he could against them, but there are also a handful players I like to see him against as they too bring out the best in Andy.
Sampras was a very unique player IMO because he had one too many signature shots to be quite unique. I don't think we'll see him anything like him again.
And thanks for being lovely about my players. I am glad you enjoy them too. ;D

I am not hung up on those. Einstein wasn't highly educated and wasn't really a looker but I could see myself falling for him. In fact he was known as 'slow' in school and his father thought he wouldn't amount to anything.
I don't care for social status. These are all material stuff that actually turns me off. I prefer a spiritually advanced and genuinely intellectual person. Typically they tend to live a very healthy life anyway.
-
What do men want? How come we never talk about that? Or are they too much of a simpleton to want anything else other than sex and food? ;D
I know what baron wants - cheap beer and Federer on the side. lol

now you are a different animal. and a most difficult animal.
i think I would have to just walk up to your chair and knock you and your chair to the ground.
and then as you are falling and in near panic, i would just scoop you up---employing just one hand--- before you and your chair hit the ground.
and it is at this point that i would ask the bartender to bring you a glass of milk and a library book while i skip scotch.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;
I am too wise and mentally too powerful for you to let you come anywhere near me. I can detect when a wild animal is about to make a wild move. ;D

vilas, muster, bruguera, kuerten, and nadal are my players lady TT.
I didn't get to see vilas, muster, and brugera, but I did enjoy watching Kuerten. Always smiling, but with a quiet determination. Kuerten was cool.
I got to see all of them except for Vilas of course as he was before my time. I liked Guga the most from this bunch. I didn't mind Muster either.
i never saw any of them but i have read about all of them a great deal.
vilas and muster fascinate me the most as far as ancient tennis history goes.

my approach with the ladies is unique and different:
I don't bother them for one thing. I let them bother me.
I also don't buy them drinks at a sport bar. I tell the bartender to go ask them if they would like to buy me a drink. most of the time it does not work but occasionally it does. and we have a good laugh in the process.
i also try to make sure i don't ask them out as much as possible. i try to be creative.
i create the conditions and the climate where they are comfortable with me. and then they can come up with all the hints to go out.
some guys act just too desperate.
smart women don't care for desperate fools at a sports bar.
herc darling, and I say this with love, please get over yourself. ;D
But if you had asked me to buy you a drink then I would have wanted you to come to me directly like a man and ask me to buy you a drink. I'd have liked to see if you'd have dared that much. ;D
But I am not like other women so if you had asked through someone else, say, in this case the bartender, I wouldn't be offended at all. I'd probably laugh non-stop and who knows would probably buy you a drink too.
But it's true that I don't let others to buy my drink. It's a strict no no for me nor do I go to the pubs to be picked up. I find it gross. But if I meet someone accidentally there that's then different. Typically I just go there just to have some fun with my close friends.

Ha ha ha. Emma is fearless. I feel she may take on the challenge. Tread lightly.
I am not as fearless as I used to be. While growing up I was so fearless that my family and friends thought I'd die very early because I had no fear of death, but I am still alive and perhaps will outlive everyone I know. ;D
That is the funniest things I've read all day.

I think you are right. she is the fearless warrior princess of Camelot.
she is probably a martial arts expert.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I did take some judo classes to my credit but I don't think my parents were crazy about it. Anyway, I look very feminine despite my tomboyish attitude/personality. ;D

I can so see this. It totally fits your persona.
And, it's actually very clever.
I would crack up laughing if a guy in the club had the bartender come over and tell me that a man said it was OK for me to buy him a drink. That's a great icebreaker.
its pretty cool stuff and it does work once in a blue moon as they say.

what about a healthy bank account?
don't women want that in man as well?
and this is what I want in women:
1. extremely healthy bank account: so I don't have to spend any money on them. they can spend money on me.
2. comes from a great family
3. highly educated: minimum of a masters degree with at least 3.75 GPA
4. attractive
5. intelligent and thoughtful
6. loves sports
7. extremely fit
8 loves the great outdoors

my approach with the ladies is unique and different:
I don't bother them for one thing. I let them bother me.
I also don't buy them drinks at a sport bar. I tell the bartender to go ask them if they would like to buy me a drink. most of the time it does not work but occasionally it does. and we have a good laugh in the process.
i also try to make sure i don't ask them out as much as possible. i try to be creative.
i create the conditions and the climate where they are comfortable with me. and then they can come up with all the hints to go out.
some guys act just too desperate.
smart women don't care for desperate fools at a sports bar.
I can so see this. It totally fits your persona.
And, it's actually very clever.
I would crack up laughing if a guy in the club had the bartender come over and tell me that a man said it was OK for me to buy him a drink. That's a great icebreaker.

what about a healthy bank account?

this is so cool.
we have all of Camelot at our disposal.
and the same goes for the others here.
we can talk about anything anywhere we please.
there are chat threads all over the place. very much like real life.
sure we love tennis but there are other things in life too that we may want to chit chat about here and there.
the one theme that should come across to all our friends and our guests is that we are just a very relaxed group here.
this was a great idea for this thread. i am enjoying it.

general masterclass is just very bright person.
he and I often see things in tennis in a similar way.
I know the game as it relates to exactly how the war is waged on the clay court. primarily because I have played the sport at a reasonably high level. in particular and more specifically, I am a clay monster in my own right. I have never lost a singles match on clay. I played a game that is very similar to the way vilas, muster, and nadal play it. endless endurance and physical strength and heavy topspin off both wings.
general masterclass has incredible insight into the sport too but perhaps at a different level. he knows damn near everything while I am more specific with the actual capacities of the strokes and what they mean for clay.
so we tend to compliment each other to some extent.
Is masterclass a very big fan of clay as well? For some reason I thought he was more of a fan of grass and hard. It's very good to know that you are such a great player on clay.
I am more of a fan of grass because it's the most original surface and also because, I see tennis as rather an artistic and intelligent game rather than a very physical and brutal sport. That's the primary reason why I like both Sampras and Murray's game because I find those very artistic and intelligent. Perhaps I should then like Federer's game as well and I am not against it, but the whole package never really did it for me, so obviously a more down to earth character is also on the card for me to truly like a player. But you know, different strokes for different people.

See like you I too prefer intelligence first. Sometimes I don't even want to get into a discussion with a good looking man because I fear he might not be intelligent. lolol. Such discrimination though but good looking men tend to spend so much time building their physics and taking care of their looks that I don't feel they put enough time aside to learn something. So if there's one thing common between all my boyfriends then it will most surely come down to the fact that I've found all of them very intelligent.
Anyway, enough about me. I guess that's why you find masterclass very intelligent. ;D
I do like barons sarcasm. When he made that comment about Murray fans donating food or money on Sunday mornings because they are such saints as opposed to Federer fans, I giggled nonstop. Though it was not a flattering comment by any means but his sarcasm level went high on that day. lol I suppose a bit of healthy sarcasm and good humour go a long way too.

This is distressing, Emma.
It appears that The truth is not a full woman. She has no chocolate center, pays little attention to her shoes and handbags coordination, loathes shopping, does not understand the concept of jealousy, and has a commitment phobia.
I don't fare well under the male brain either, except for the remote control addiction.
I guess I am a shemale, LOL.
You are bi then. Ask your sexuality and perhaps therein lies The Truth. ;D ;D ;D
Frankly, I don't have that kind of female brain either. Like for example, I have the same amount of attention span as identified in the male brain as well as 'avoid personal questions, ironing, tv-remote control addiction, listening particle' etc.
From the female brain I can only identify chocolate centre but perhaps not to that extent and perhaps a bit of indecision stuff.
So I too essentially might just be a bi or mostly posses male brain, but I am not bi because I am pretty straight and I like guys. Never fancied women, like ever. And girl on girl doesn't excite me neither does guy on guy. lolol
And my sex drive might be bigger than female brain however perhaps not as big as the male brain and certainly not in two different places in one brain. lol

too funny.
there is no world without women. they make the world go around.
and they drive all men to drink if they don't drive them crazy first.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Surely I am not one of them? ;D
-
nobody knows what the hell women want.
not even women.
There's a joke that said that God fainted right after he created women as his own reaction was, 'Oh God, what have I done!" lol

You're too kind Lady TT ;)
Who knows?
My entourage might pass by your area and you have a good chance of being granted an audience if you keep it up. :)
My munificence knows no bounds. ;)

ROFL for real.
Love the word munificence. I've never seen that word before, but I'll never forget it. I can't wait to casually drop it in conversation with my friends.
So your expertise doesn't stop at tennis, analysis, and objectivity? You take it two steps further. I love people who broaden you. You are a class act, masterclass, I am learning so much from you.
I am so glad you're help. What an asset.

Well masterclass,
We are not speaking of men like you. Heaven forbid! We are talking about mere mortals who are not worthy to scrape the bottom of thou royal shoes.
No, our words are restricted to mere mortals.
A fine, upstanding gentleman like you? Never!
-
wow.
this thread is really interesting.
;D ;D ;D ;D

And women think they know... ::)
I can't speak for all men. As I said, I don't like to generalize, but for me, how I choose to satisfy my hunger usually depends on the time of day and who is around that is eager to share their culinary delights. I must admit, I enjoy the pleasure of being with others when eating, especially when they are internationally represented. It gives one an excellent opportunity to perfect one's cunning linguistic abilities, while having an interesting mix of penetrating conversation. Bon appétit :)
Respectfully,
masterclass
That sounds just about right.

Still trying to figure out what I can post.
It seems that I have no memory on my E drive, which is weird, because I've only put two things on it and immediately uninstalled.
I have to find a computer guy!
This is frustrating.
-
That would add a bit of spice to the place, lol :).

So I was having a conversation with a newly appointed co-worker of mine this afternoon and she was inquiring about my marital status (as usual) so I told her that I was single. And she without pausing uttered, 'oh but you are so pretty. What's wrong?'
See, this is the problem with people. They automatically think if you are pretty and yet not married then there must be something wrong with you. I told her that I've had boyfriends in the past and was involved in a few relationships as well, but the reason I am single now is actually a choice that I've made. I don't think she bought it though judging by the look of her face at that time. lolol
But she's good a person so it doesn't matter if she judged me a bit there - consciously or unconsciously.
-
Oh so vulgar.
Anyhoo, on the flip side, we all know what men want - sex and food - in that order.

Treat them right, and they'll treat you right, and everyone should always be generous and willing - to learn new things. :)

Details depend on the woman.
I really don't like to generalize...but as long as they continue to want me, and I them, we are all usually well satisfied.
If there is little interest either way, then it really doesn't matter, does it?
Respectfully,
masterclass
WAT? They? ??? How many do you want them to want you and you them??? And what kind of satisfaction are we talking about here?
herc, there should be a harem section for masterclass only.

Yes. There is no answer, is there? We are all different and want different things.
Which is why life is so wonderful. No matter who we are there is someone on this earth who understands us and can help to make our existence better.

I was just smiling at what you said.
I think there is a great deal of truth to that.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Is that a no way, lol.
I hear you, a man would be undoing centuries of socialization and cultural norms in order to think this way.

I could've helped Freud out with this.
What women want isn't rocket science.
All they want is someone who considers their feelings just like they consider their own.
It's rare that it happens, but it can.
Men need to step out of the superior role sometimes and simply think of women as equals.
It makes everything so much easier.
-
nobody knows what women want.
Sigmund Freud spent his entire life trying to answer that question.
even women don't know what they want. at least that is the word on the street.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
LOL that was pretty funny.
