Wawrinka was overplaying at every turn. He pressed way too much. Not that he would've won, but he has to learn how to control his emotions.

A lot of higher ranked players out already. At least they have two weeks to prepare, rest, and recuperate.

Only one upset at Queen's Club today, and a major one. #3 seed and defending Queen's Club and Wimbledon Champion Andy Murray was sent home in 2 sets by 35 year old #15 seed Radek Stepanek.  The first set was ultra close, with a long tiebreaker going to Stepanek 12-10, and Murray having 4 or 5 set points in the tiebreaker but couldn't get the job done.

Then after that, Murray immediately dropped his first service game in the second and it was uphill from there.  At times, it looked like Stepanek was schooling Murray on the grass, playing very intelligently, serving well, volleying well, lobbing well, and generally giving Andy fits.  Andy's serve wasn't on. His second serve as per usual was giving Stepanek the advantage from the start, and Murray had a hard time with the Stepanek serve.

Not a good day at the office for Andy.  He goes out early here, losing a couple of hundred points, but he can't do this at Wimbledon, or he might drop out of the top 10.  I can't see him losing that early at Wimbledon, but who knows?  Again he seemed to react strangely at times on the court, like he didn't care so much. Well, maybe he doesn't.  After winning the biggest tournament of your dreams, everything else seems rather mundane, doesn't it?

Anyway, congratulations to Radek and his fans, commiserations to Andy and his supporters.

Everyone else expected got through including Wawrinka, Berdych, and Dimitrov, all in straight sets.

Respectfully,
masterclass

Wow, a couple of upsets, some unexpected blowouts, and some really tight matches in Halle.

A day for some upsets at Queen's Club.

#6 seed and new top 10 Ernests Gulbis heads the list, going down to Frenchman Kenny De Schepper.
#11 Pospisil, #12, Tursunov, #13, Mahut also departed from the premises thanks to Stakhovsky, Nieminen, and ERV, respectively.

Winners include #1 seed Wawrinka over Baghdatis who retired early at 3-2 and will face American Sam Querrey next. #3 Andy Murray dispensed with PHMathieu in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. #5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga defeated young David Goffin with a hard fought first set winning the tiebreaker i7-5, then coasted 6-2 in the second. #8 Dolgopolov beat Istomin and 4 time Queen's Club champion Lleyton Hewitt was beaten by #10 seed Feliciano Lopez, who served very well in the clutch to get past Hewitt.  Ye olde Radek Stepanek squeezed by young Bernard Tomic 7-6(4), 7-6(5) to set up a clash with Andy Murray, OBE.

I heard dimitrov is already training on grass.

I am sure roger is planning to put some extra time on grass also.

roger and rafa will be headed to Halle, Germany.

Andy Murray will play at Aegon Championships.

For a moment I was wondering why Rafa started going to Halle, but then I remembered it was something about taxes and appearance fees, I think.

Correct, Lady TT.
