we will use this place to list her movies and also a little bit of information pertaining to those movies.

That's a cool idea. I'll start it off with The Misfits. The article is long, but very interesting.

For all its emotional power, THE MISFITS, as Levin's film proves, was not at all easy to produce. "It was an anxious set," recalls Lee Jones Schoenburg of Magnum Special Projects. "There was a tremendous amount of tension. First of all, everybody would get there, it was 110 in the shade, and sit around ... Marilyn wouldn't show and wouldn't show, and [we wondered] would it get called off or not? By the time things got going, all sorts of decisions had to be made about scenes to cut and drop." Oddly, neither Huston nor anyone else admonished the unstable Monroe for her constant tardiness (at the time, even though she was married to Miller, she was having an affair with Yves Montand). "That's astonishing because it was John Huston, after all," Levin says. "Okay, Arthur Miller is crumbling in the corner. We understand that he is so emasculated and lost that he can probably do very little about it. He's the writer, not the director. But Huston, in his funny way, was very nonconfrontational. You would think he would be very aggressively expecting her to be on time, but he was rather benign! He too felt you can't rush her, you can't push her -- what's it going to get me to do this? Nothing. It will upset her, so let's just play this thing out."

See, I have taken myself to that stage where no man can stand before me and ask for attention. Nor am I allured by his handsomeness.

I envy your strength of will - but also wonder if life would necessarily be better if you were resistant to human beauty..  As someone said - "A thing of beauty is a joy forever".. Marilyn continues to capture our imagination - what a beauty!!!

Who says I am resistant to human beauty or any beauty for that matter? I love innocence and beauty, but beauty is also subjective because it does lie in the eye of the beholder. But that's not what I was objecting to, that is, if I was objecting to it at all. The kind of beauty you are referring to also comes with lust, and often times it's just that especially with men. So one often find herself wondering if it is indeed only the beauty he's all admiring. In any case, that's why women/wives get jealous when their boyfriends/husbands lust over other women's 'beauty'. Only if it was that innocent, alas.

As to me, it just doesn't work that way. Beauty eventually fades but substance remains forever which is far more beautiful, so beauty is not essentially what you see only, it's far more than that.  It is also said that, a man who truly loves his woman can never look at another woman because they cease to exist for him.

For me, the most beautiful thing in the world is human babies. They bring nothing but innocence and pure love. Women's beauty mostly destructive and never innocent. And if 'A thing of beauty is a joy forever' then you should be looking and posting these too, no? :p
