  I did look it up and it mentioned 4 different falls that were used in the movie, all located in North Carolina.

  I saw "the last of the mohicans". I strongly recommend it.
  
  it is old but it is fascinating. I am sure the book was better but it is still a good movie.

  I have never been to NC. I did travel TN and KY when I was in a traveling singing group about 15 years ago and they were beautiful as well! The mountains are amazing!!
