Take your time, no rush.

Andy must have been very nervous to win only 1 game. It's such a shame. This would have never happened under Lendl's supervision. Amelie is just too weak herself and Andy's girlfriend is no good either. She's just too busy wearing fancy clothes and carrying expensive handbags and showing up from time to time. Very typical girlfriend. Only Judy has some sort of deep understanding of the mental state, not to mention the game itself and a good handle on Andy.

I wouldn't have minded a loss today but the way he lost is not acceptable at all given the caliber of a player he is. Anyway, hopefully this will turn things around in Andy's favour come 2015.

Opportunities always come in disguise be it apparent misfortunes or temporary setbacks.

WTF has been so dire so far though. Only a couple of matches stood out for me. Otherwise I saw one too many results like today.

If Andy is nervous and not at all feeling confident, his serves are the first ones to go (clearly the weakest element as far as his game is concerned) and yet, there's no end to Murray fans constantly bitching about 'servebots'. How uncanny and a great lesson for those haters. Great karma there.

Andy still won 3 titles this year despite post surgery comeback and having to deal with players who have just peaked this year (Wawrinka, Cilic, Nishikori and Dimitrov to lesser extent) and that's still better than Federer's 1 title last year in Halle. So we can't afford to write the season off. Andy needs to focus on what worked for him this year the most and take it from there.

Federer tends to play some of the tournaments the most because he's won them the most and he's most comfortable there and the confidence factor just works out for him automatically there in those tournaments (Halle is one of them). If you research Federer's resume enough you will notice the trend.

Andy's return to tweets and Facebook so soon after the match suggests he is not at all devastated by the way he'd lost. It even implies he tanked the match against Federer. Winning against Raonic was important to him because of H2H and also, he has gained 200 points out of it. Against Nishikori, the H2H is in Andy's favour though could have used 200 points there too.

I said this before (probably at the AO 2015 thread) that this WTF wasn't that important to him to begin with, as he was just working on his ranking for 2015 AO, so that he can be seeded within the top 8 bracket.

He needs to realize though that he has yet to beat anyone this year who's ahead of him in the ranking - be it Nishikori, Wawrinka, Nadal, Federer or Nole. So certainly a big task ahead in the coming year among other things.

My other boy Nole has just confirmed the No. 1 ranking with his win over Berdych today. This has just made my day. I am so thankful and grateful that we have someone like Nole at the top of the game. He really seems to be on the right track.

Congrats Nole!

Novak Djokovic brushed aside Tomas Berdych to reach the last four at the ATP World Tour Finals and secure the year-end number one ranking.

The Serb, 27, won 6-2 6-2 to extend his unbeaten run indoors to 30 matches stretching back to 2012.

He tops Group A in London with three wins and will play Kei Nishikori in the semi-finals on Saturday.

Berdych could yet qualify for the semi-finals, with Stan Wawrinka to play Marin Cilic in the evening session.

congrats to nole and his fans. he is simply a machine on the hard courts.

If you say that about Nole, herc darling then we should also acknowledge the fact that Federer is also a machine on hard courts and Nadal is on clay. In fact, they are both machines in general as well since they are playing tennis since 1998 and 2001 respectively, and still on top of the game. Nadal might even be the biggest machine of all time if you think about all his achievements on clay sweeping most of titles including RG since 2005.

Nole has shown a lot more vulnerabilities over the years. He also has also lost a lot of finals since then. I've recently discovered that even Murray fans have turned against him and it doesn't surprise me. After all, they both turned pro at the same time and they both play the game in a quite similar fashion, and yet, it's Nole who has taken the big lead on Andy in every category. So all this venom or the so called 'personal preferences' are actually based on jealousy, hatred, anger etc. - nothing else.

Nole is a great guy and a great human being. He's made great decisions to overcome his won challenges. Many wrote him off after 2010, his worst year yet, but he in return wrote them off when he prioritized his goals and took a new leap of faith in 2011. We must acknowledge his dedication to this wonderful game and new challenges he's laid out for the rest of the players.

You should acknowledge this even more since Nadal himself had to overcome the 'Federer' factor and his fans to stand where he is now. Nole had to make even a bigger stride to overcome the 'Fedal' factor and their fans. He constantly not only has to fight against these players but also against their fans. It's not easy by any means because the work load is just double the amount than it ever was. Nole deserves a lot more respect than this.

Andy needs to stop misleading his fans. It's not fair to them. For example, why would he want to qualify for WTF if he had no intention of winning it? Isn't that the ultimate goal to win it or the goal was just to qualify? Whatever for then?

Let me make this even easier for you to understand - the Andy you know, if WTF was that important to him, he would have fought his balls off to win the key matches at the very least. Did he do that? Was there any true notion of any sort? He instead lost to Nishikori in straight sets and against Federer, he barely won 1 game. If your love for Andy is unconditional then you will not be able to see what I am talking about, but if you are a rational fan, then these are enough to raise questions/doubts in your mind.

Hence the reason why I find it misleading therefore unfair because, fans were under the impression Andy was going to deliver at WTF since he went through so much just to 'qualify'. They paid big bucks to see him play at his best or at least give it his best effort, but all they received instead was a bagel and half.

Anyway, I've stopped reading post match transcripts, articles about Andy or his blogs etc. all that blah blah stuff since Wimbledon. I don't buy into half the things he says and also, I have a pretty good idea as to what to expect from him (the usual drill) or what's written in articles.

That doesn't mean though I love Andy any less - I love him just as much but he mustn't exploit his fans nor should he mislead them. He needs to be completely honest (or highly diplomatic) and fully dedicated. If he's going to peak only in particular tournaments then that's fine, just don't jibberjabber about stuff you know full well that you have no intention of following through.

I am definitely not one those fans who blindly support their idol who apparently can do nothing wrong, while others, especially those we don't like regardless, do everything wrong.

Well, two people died last night nearby where I live last night. Cause was speed and alcohol. Was it worth it?

This btw reminds me about one other staggering stat about the US - drunk driving. In the 80s and 90s, around 25,000 to 30,000 people would die because of drunk driving.  They have made a great stride since then to reduce the amount but it's still alarmingly high. They are still one of the top 5 countries where drunk driving and accidents happen the most killing more than 10,000 innocents each year.

It's no wonder that alcohol is prohibited in Islam because not only people misuse it but also, it causes death. It basically has no positive contributions to society or to people. There are no drunk driving incidents in Muslim countries and you won't find any alcoholic father or mother even if you search for it your whole life. That doesn't mean that none of them drink because some do, but because it's a prohibited item since the inception of Islam, they drink moderately and secretly. In the pre-Islamic era, drinking used to be heavy to the point Muhammad had to come and make it a banned item. Women used to be regularly abused and harassed by drunk people both at home and on the streets. That was the only way to stop it since it was so out of control at that time.

Even in Canada, we take great caution; for example, unlike south of the border, alcohol is only sold in stores that have license to sell. This means you will not find even very cheap beers in places like gas stations. On top of that, alcohol is strictly prohibited in recreational areas - be it parks or beaches and other similar places. This prevents a lot of unwanted and unpleasant incidents - not to mention, much less road accidents.

Now I am not in favour of banning alcohol as I myself like drinking wine from time to time and other drinks if I am up for it, but I definitely want to take full responsibility for it. But that might have to do with the fact that I am, after all, from a Muslim background, so I must have inherited the notion from my previous generations. And I am a careful individual anyway but it is by no means a common element in people, especially in the western culture. So the best thing to do is to come up with a plan - whatever it is as long as it helps people and saves lives. It will also prevent a lot of domesticity violence caused by this substance.

We are such vulnerable species that not only we seek comfort in all the wrong places but also, we don't realize when those substances start controlling us, because at the end of the day, alcohol is still neutral. It's really not demanding us to drink it but rather we choose to drink and then we let it control us.  If we are aware or at least raise proper awareness, we can most certainly prevent this.

Thank you, herc darling. Full credit to you for letting me say whatever I want to say because you know very well that my intentions are always good and positive, even when people misunderstand it or deliberately misinterpret it, but you don't do it. You have always managed to see the points I always try to make and that's because you are a very open minded person and you know me well. That's why I really enjoy being around you since you always bring out the best in me.

Enjoy your time and weekend. I'll be back tomorrow as I've got some plans for this evening.

Oh I watched a very good movie last night - The Caller. I was skeptical at first thinking it was going to be one of those B grade horror flicks but it turned out to be unexpectedly good. The story was very original and it kept me guessing the whole time. The movie kept me thinking for hours even after I finished watching it. I will have to watch it again but I want to take some time before I do so. I found it extremely intriguing and was heavily hooked just after 5 minutes. Not many movies can do that to me. It stats a bit slow (which I love but many prefer fast-paced, something I truly hate since it doesn't allow any character or story development) but then it takes its own pace. A hidden gem I must say and I am so glad I found it. Highly recommended. Perhaps not your type of movie though, herc darling.

I hear it has an alternate ending (not as mainstream or traditional) but hasn't seen it yet. Not sure where I can find it though.

Not a happy ending for Federer. Withdrew with a back injury. Yesterday's match took a lot out of him. I was thinking about it since he's after all 33 years old and had less than 24 hours to recover.

So Nole wins by default. I do think he would have won anyway. He just slaughtered his way to the final. Congrats Nole!

Watching Nole and Andy who was called in the last minute due to withdrawal. Actually missed out most of it as I've turned on my TV only a few minutes ago. Nice speech by both.

Andy joked about pushing Federer the other day to the point that had caused him back injury. lol Clearly he's not at all devastated by the way he lost if you know what I mean.
