I watched parts of Andy vs Andujar match and none of last night's match.
You are right about one thing Anikh. Since Andy's natural game is not that of an aggressive one, after a long break, it takes him time to make that passive to aggressive transition again. This is only due to lack of confidence - at least initially. But this is actually a very common problem for all the aggressive players as well, but the difference is, they stay aggressive regardless even when they lack confidence, because it's their natural style. However, they make a ton of errors while trying to build the confidence back into the game. Now one can say, passive game is not all that attractive but I find an aggressive game that is very prone to errors is just as much unattractive.
Totally agree, Emma. I cannot stand watching an error strewn match.
Not very smart tennis, IMO.
So who are you picking between Federer and Nole tomorrow? I guess most of Nadal fans will side with Federer but I will go with my man Nole.
I give the nod to Nole as well. If he wants to win Rafa Garros, it starts right here.
This court is blue within blue...within blue....within blue ...within blue within... and on top of that, Andy too is in blue. It's a blue menace.
Ha ha ha. You don't see the word menace very often.
Good morning, my fellow tennis fans. I let my boss know this morning that I won't be in today but I also told her that I'll be checking my office email from time to time in case there's any urgent matter.
I chickened out last night during the 2nd set but more importantly, I couldn't take the stress anymore given that I was feeling bad physically already. I must admit I didn't think Andy was going to win so very surprised by that. He was constantly getting overpowered by a player like Simon who very rarely is that aggressive. Also, Andy wasn't covering the court as well as he typically does and looked kind of out of sorts. He's really struggling a great deal to recover and I feel he's mentally not feeling it as much either even he really wants to get there where he left off. It's very sad to see Andy suffer this much since his return.
Anyway, I taped the match so at least I'll be able to watch it later. The best thing about HD Nextbox is that, I started taping from the middle of the match and yet, it taped the whole match and finished only after the coverage was over. Just love it and I have so much space. I can tape at least 5 different things simultaneously.
So Dimitrov is next. A very tight match between Gulbis and Dimitrov judging by the result. Wonder what's in store for us tonight. Dimitrov will be keen I am sure.
Berdych was down a break in the 1st but not only he broke him back but also, went on to win the 1st set. I like it. Berdych is the better player and really in form at the moment so he should advance.

To be honest, I don't know why Nole advertising that he wants to win RG. It's a terrible strategy if anything. Putting unnecessary pressure on himself and drawing unnecessary attention. But I don't think he needs a win here since it's an hardcourt tournament. He'll just have to stay healthy and as fresh as possible and bring his best to RG. There's only one player standing on his way and that's Nadal though facing Federer there won't be as ideal since Federer likes a showdown where he's the underdog minus Nadal.
morning emma. it is still cold as hell out here.
I am going to nearly freeze during my bike ride.
Andy did it the hard way but it will serve him well in his next 2 matches.
I like Anikh's sig very much however I feel it's a bit too big. Your size is much better, herc.

What's the temp over there this morning? Ours was -19.
Both Andujar and Simon took medical timeouts just when Andy was making the comeback. Quite ironically everything was okay when they were leading the match. IMO, it's a very disturbing manipulation to disrupt the opponent's momentum.
I think it hit 36 degrees last night. it will start to warm up a little bit now but still too cold for a bike ride for me.
I guess I am ready for a warmer weather now.
it is just bitter cold over where you are. this has been a brutal winter.
I agree about anikh's super sig: it was only the first attempt. it can be streamlined a little bit. I also have to loo for better/higher resolution pictures.
that will make the sig look more crisp.
it is 45 degrees but will warm up to about 68 today.
I think I am going to change my sig to a Murray one but I need to find 5 pictures I like very much. I actually have an album of Andy (lol) so I'll choose a few pictures from there and will send it over to you. But you will keep my current sig saved so that I can use it later if I feel like it. What say you?
