stay tuned anikh:
Andy is going to deliver another break of serve.
come on Andy. just do it.
lets get an insurance break.
emma has a great sense of humor.
I know. Very witty indeed.
And just when I thought I had gotten over the pole dance, she comes up with the two-faced woman, LOL.
Andy delivers the second insurance break.
first set is in hand now. this will make things very difficult for dimitrov.
Andy will be in the final and I think he will deliver the title for his fans, his family, and his team.
Andy takes care of his serve for 5-3 lead.
Oh Clay missed your earliest post too. Thanks for your kind comments. Yes pleasure to be here. Thats great from Andy. Nice first serve percentage. Also offense and defense both at high level.
thanks goodness the first set is in the bag. Andy snatches it 6-4.
see you all next time around. I need to hit the sack.
post away and have a blast. indian wells is just 6 days away now.
lets get fired up about it.
Anikh I had a feeling that Andy was going to intensify his focus tonight.
tonight is the night to have a long match if possible. he has the title in mind.
first serve percentage war real high. now time to finish the job and get off the court.
anyway I am going to grab some sleep. see you soon.
just make yourself at home. you have the same right to Camelot as any of us.
Ok Clay yes sure thanks. Good Night . Take care. Yes Indian Wells should be great too.
I am just now waking up here. I cant believe that score. I was so sure that Andy would be in the final but evidently it was just not meant to be this time.
anyway congrats to dimitrov and his fans.
Good morning, folks.
I did not see Andy's match last night. First of all, it started awfully late and then I have this health issue going on so I did not want to tire myself out. Besides, I taped it but I found out this morning it didn't tape the whole match because it went over their allocated hours and I guess they stopped broadcasting after that. Too bad because I'd have really liked to watch it today. I'll find it somewhere in CETs collection though I am sure.
It looks to be a tough loss since Andy won the 1st set and then went on to lose the next two sets and the match especially given the 2 TBs.
Andy's still making slow progress but progress nonetheless. He played some really good players here (Andujar, Simon, Dimitrov etc.) and that must have given him a lot of confidence - win or loss. I consider them Tire 2 players but still they come with variety and different skill sets. And Andy should really be playing these types of players first. And even if had won last night's match there's no guarantee he would have won the title since Anderson is playing really for a year now, so that would have been equally challenging.
I hope he plays both IW and Miami but he probably won't come into full terms until Queens. The grass, the home crowd, the atmosphere everything will and should motivate him. The clay season might motivate him in the meantime too since it's still a challenge for him but perhaps not as much as the grass. His desire is there, it's just not clicking on the whole yet and the level is still not where it should be. But he's a professional player so I am sure he knows what it will take him to get there.
I ran into a couple (husband and wife) on the beach today. they had a bit of an accent so I quickly asked them if they were from united kingdom.
they said they were from around south Hampton (united kingdom).
you can just imagine my next question: I asked them if they followed andy murray.
they said they were devoted fans of andy murray.
there is an Englishman here that is a teaching pro at a local tennis club. he has andy's posters all over his pro shop but his most favorite player is roger Federer.
Oh that's very nice to hear. But I'd like Andy to have lots of international fans not just Brit fans. That would motivate Andy more but people don't really notice anyone until you have big results, quite unfortunately. And those are fans of tennis they too go for the same thing so it's not wonder that most of current fans are either Federer fans or Nadal fans. Of course there are exceptions as well.
Some early returns by Berdy to break Federer 4-2, 40-0 Tomas.
I chickened out last night during the 2nd set but more importantly, I couldn't take the stress anymore given that I was feeling bad physically already. I must admit I didn't think Andy was going to win so very surprised by that. He was constantly getting overpowered by a player like Simon who very rarely is that aggressive. Also, Andy wasn't covering the court as well as he typically does and looked kind of out of sorts. He's really struggling a great deal to recover and I feel he's mentally not feeling it as much either even he really wants to get there where he left off. It's very sad to see Andy suffer this much since his return.
Anyway, I taped the match so at least I'll be able to watch it later. The best thing about HD Nextbox is that, I started taping from the middle of the match and yet, it taped the whole match and finished only after the coverage was over. Just love it and I have so much space. I can tape at least 5 different things simultaneously.
Wow, I'll have to see if we have Netbox in the states. I can only DVR two things at a time.
I think I have the very latest generation so it's pretty good. My cable provider is Rogers and since I am with them for a long time, they offered me this free of charge and after two year, I will own it. lol. I am almost never into taping things because I don't watch most of TV stuff anyway but more importantly, I don't actually have that kind of time to watch stuff later. I make an exception for Andy's matches.
US has many cable providers but check with your cable provider to see what they have Nextbox. One of them should have it, at least.
