Andre Agassi has matured nicely over the years. he has a wonderful wife so I am sure he has learned a lot from her.

One certainly hopes so.

Emma do you remember this occasion?

Andy gave the world something that is going to last 100,000 centuries. Andy carved out his own immortality with this win.

I do remember, yes but I am not sure if we are going to last that long as human species!

What a great match. You didn't want either to lose. It went down to the very last point. They both were exhausted. I haven't seen a fight like that in a long time. Robredo is something else. Man, I can't believe he is playing this well at his age. That was so nice the way that Murray acknowledged his great play. Andy is a class act.

Oh I definitely wanted Andy to win and Robredo to lose. From a Murray fan perspective, it was one of the toughest matches to watch (am still recovering from it. Some of us were having heart attacks in small doses) and there was a lot at stake for Andy. I am sure Rafa fans would have wanted the same had he been in Andy's place.

It's just a game for me. I have chilled in the past few years because of other people's reactions. It has caused me to divorce myself from the game, in a sense. Once Rafa retires, so will I. I think losses are a part of life, so I take them with a grain of salt.

I like all the Spanish players but Rafa and Andy are my top warriors.

I always liked the Spanish players too. They just have a certain kind of swag. I used to like Corretja, JC Ferrero, and Albert Costa. I also like the Argentinians. All countries have their different cultural values and I think that comes across on court.

Big time win for Raonic.

And Berdych simply has Anderson's number.

Andy has now seen his 4th loss to Nole this year alone. While Andy is still a level below Nole, this loss in retrospect, isn't really a big deal. I haven't seen the match (I have recorded it - not sure if I'll watch it in the end) but I believe it's a combination of things that saw him the loss today. For instance, he's got to be a bit tired by now and the fact that he's qualified for WTF after his straight sets win over Dimitrov must have taken away some of that motivation. I don't think he was very focused today against Nole, as he had one too many breakpoints against him unlike his previous matches and of course, take in the fact that, Nole still is the best player in the world so one must bring their best to face Nole. I don't feel the whole package was there today.

Anyway, he still has WTF to look forward to and he'll be much fresher by then and a good showing there would help his ranking come 2015 AO and that's the main goal. While a win over Nole would have been really nice, WTF is still the place where Andy should bring his absolute best. At the very least, I would want Andy to make sure he's there where he is right now in the ATP ranking.

Really good win for Raonic. I had a feeling about this match. It was the ideal scenario for Raonic. He was away from home where he always feels a lot of pressure especially against Federer and also, he was fresh and ready to go this time. And this match being the qtr final match took the unnecessary pressure away. Hope he's not too overwhelmed by the win.

Was hoping for Anderson to win but yeah, Berdy's got his number.

Ferrer and Nishi are in a tough battle in the meantime. Nishi lost the 1st set but has taken the 2nd in a TB. Watching Nishi play tennis is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What a wonderful ball striker he is.

que pasa lady TT, emma, and the others.

I have found the English, Spanish, and the Australian players to be the classiest over the years.

of course you folks know that I am a huge fan of argentina players as well.

I completely disagree with that statement. A country cannot guarantee the behaviour of its people given that a country is only a concept and not a being that understands the meaning of life, right or wrong, good or bad etc.

Besides, I have seen Spanish players being classless on occasions (Nadal himself doesn't act very classy after a tough loss) and I don't think people find Bernard Tomic a class act for example. Even Hewitt came off a bit cocky early in his career - even I'll admit that. Same for the English or rather British people. While Andy is very classy and always very quick to give his opponents due credit win or loss, he berates himself a bit too much for my liking/taste. IMO, it's just as bad as berating others. I don't appreciate it and if Andy is reading it by any chance then I don't care. He must know it's not cool at all or respectful. If you don't love and respect yourself then you won't be able to love and respect others, simply put.

Anyway, I never get the notion behind liking all the players that happen to come from the same country. For all I know, every country has its fair shares of good and bad people. I am sure you will find loads of crimes in all these countries and people being behind bars. No country is above it and no country possess the right to 'class act'. It's an individual thing and a country does not set the behaviour of an individual nor does it shape the mindset of an individual. It's a ludicrous thing to say, herc darling, sorry.

I like the Australian, English, and Argentinian players too. They are classy and lead me to believe that their culture is one that I would fit into.

Good points. I saw the match and it is just as you surmised. Tired, unmotivated, and wasn't that aggressive, like he was in the Grigor match. Hopefully, he'll recover in time for the WTF. I miss the old Andy.

I disagree, while countries do not "enforce" individual behaviors, they do share a certain type of cultures. For example, China is known for their humility and collectivism as a whole. That doesn't mean everyone within a culture adheres to the social mores of their geographical boundaries. Still, there is a lot that one can see in the differences, even in tournaments. The Australian Open seems to be a fun place, with friendly people, and much respect for the players and the sport; the same with the Argentinians, English, and the Spanish players.

Rafa being a bad loser. I totally disagree about that. I don't much about Bernie except what I hear out of the commentators mouths and I put little to know stock in that.

But of course we can always agree to disagree, because if anybody shows little class as a sportsman, IMO, it's Nole. Tearing off his shirts and having his team celebrating wins in his opponents face. It doesn't get any worse than that to me. I know he "says" reasonable things, but his actions belie his words.

Very recently I watched an old episode of 48 Hours. It was about the serial killings in Texas bayous in the 80s spanning over a few decades. However the killing has stopped since the last decade and my guess is, the serial killer got older and unable to prowl as much or might have even died, who knows. About 30 or more girls, most being under 20, went missing and most of them were never found. Parents are still searching for answers. Local Police were never a big help as they simply dismissed all cases as being a 'run away' case so parents were left helpless and had to take matters at hand out of desperation but most importantly, to find out the truth. They even made a movie on this in 2011 called "Texas Killing Fields" (you can find it on NetFlix) but that movie, like any other Hollywood cliche, is a feel good movie and far from the real story (you need this episode to know this), as usual. So I wouldn't really recommend you to watch this. I would rather watch that 48 Hours. Why settle for fake stuff?

This then led me to do this little research of mine as I've come across so many American serial killer stories over the years that one really have to wonder about these things and here's what I found.

- America holds the notorious record of producing the most serial killers in the world. More than half what rest of the world has produced so far. Wiki has a very long list of all the American serial killers.

America also happens to be the country...

- where most school shootings have taken place (believe it or not, the shooting goes as far back as the 1700s)

- the most obese country in the world

- one of the top ten countries that are in deep debt

Those are some staggering stats I must say.

Can't agree with that generalizations. I've first hand experience dealing with British people and know for a fact that they can be mean and a lot of them are mean and nasty. Doesn't matter how they behave at Wimbledon. That's definitely not a good sample to sweep such a generalization. They do look sober on the surface but that's not truly who they are. It's only a cultural thing and a superficial one. Perhaps that comes with their history. Ferrer put out pretty bad behaviours a few times and there are other incidences by other Spanish players I've seen over the years. Tomic is a spoiled brat but I don't dislike him for that. He's still young and has got himself a difficult father but they are both difficult IMO. Hewitt was cocky at first. I cut him slacks because he too was young.

Both Federer and Nadal are bad losers on occasions. I've seen it with my very eyes, barely shaking hands, giving cold shoulders to opponents who have just beaten them. No one's perfect. Nole is good loser but a bad winner. His celebration is over the top no doubt. Andy's self-berating nature is a put off. I don't mind if he calls out his own name when he misses a point and that's even cute but when he beats himself up, it's not at all cool or classy.
