Thanks for the schedule general hercules.

Andy Murray, OBE, has a clear path in the draw now.  #7 Youzhny gone.  #5 Tsonga gone, #4 Gasquet gone.
No more seeds left to face.  It's really on his racquet now.

He still looks a little rusty at times, which is to be expected given his lack of match play, especially against the top players, since last September.

He can't afford more lulls as he moves on.  These are best out of 3 set matches.  One can be booted out in a twinkling of an eye if one can't maintain consistency.  Marin Cilic is next for him.

Home favorite Igor Sijsling is serving and playing well, can he get past Kohli to make it to the SF?

----

The remaining top half QF's are loaded with tough big hitters. #1 Del Potro vs Gulbis, #3 Berdych vs. Janowicz,

Berdych vs. Murray in the final?  I'm still  concerned that Del Potro's left wrist might not be in top shape after his recent trip to New York to go get diagnosis and treatment.

Good luck and best of health to the remaining players at Rotterdam.

Respectfully,
masterclass

it is looking like a berdych vs murray final for now general.

berdych's inconsistency should be a cause for concern for his camp. you just never know with him.

he fumbles the ball a little too much in the clutch.

Gulbis has just taken out the big guy - Del Potro. Yesterday Dimitrov and today Del Potro. He's on fire. I'd like a Gulbis vs Murray final. Oh dear God please let it happen.

I don't think it's as clear cut for Murray as yet given that Cilic can really be handful at times and as you stated, Murray still looks a bit rusty. All the more reason why though he should be playing Cilic.

Both Jerzy and Del Potro out but Berdych is still in picture and despite losing a set to JJ just this morning, he too is looking good and seems to be on par with Gulbis.

Kohli seems to be in form as well and Sijsling does seem to be the right opponent for him at the moment. If Andy gets past Cilic today then I take it Kohli will be next.

Okay, so I am board for Andy's match. ;D

I really enjoy his matches vs Cilic as Cilic tends to bring out all sorts of things from Andy. lol

Based on the past,  Cilic should win the first set with Murray getting out of the gate slowly.  Then it will be a tight second set, maybe a tiebreaker, with Murray getting it after Cilic had a chance to close it out.  Then Murray would break early in the 3rd due to Marin being down, and that would be it.

But this is a New Year, and Cilic has made some changes, and Murray still isn't match fit in my opinion. It might be the best chance Cilic has...  but can he take it?

Cilic is taking the 1st set for sure. It's just 1 break but Andy wasn't able to break back. He must raise his level in the 2nd.

Andy serving very poorly - 56% first serve, 1 Ace and 2 DFs.

Cilic at 70%, 4 Aces no DFs.

I don't actually see why Andy should be rusty. He's played a very well DC tie just a week before. He might just not be motivated.
