Lady TT, I'm not privy to his thoughts on the matter, but my guess is that he'll have a go with the remainder of his team for now.
I think he has to sort out his goals for the next year or two, then decide who the best available person is to help him accomplish those goals.
At this point he probably just wants to get back to his form prior to his back surgery. Obviously, I think a good Miami, or Davis Cup showing would help his confidence going forward into the clay season, though my expectations for him still won't be higher for him until the grass season and summer hard courts.

True, Leif Shiras on TTC was wildly speculating about the split. He intimated that Lendl didn't know that it was coming. Even if that were true, he should refrain from speaking about speculations as if they're facts. They are so irresponsible and many will carry on that mantra, neglecting to mention that he did preface his comments with the fact that they were indeed speculations. So bothersome.
