The dark is generous, and it is patient, and it always wins.
It always wins because it is everywhere.
It is in the wood that burns in your hearth, and in the kettle on the fire; it is under your chair and under your table and under the sheets on your bed. Walk in the midday sun, and the dark is with you, attached to the soles of your feet.
The brightest light casts the darkest shadow.

The darkness is truly always with us, wrapping us closely like a humid air or a lovers embrace. It slips away without a murmur in the dazzling flare of the conquering light yet in the very instant the light deserts its post, he is here again entwining my soul.

Thank you for your lovely posts, I hope to see you again

Make a wish
Make one more
Explore the depths of your mind
Leave the past behind
Forge ahead
Make a wish
Make a hundred more
There is much to explore
Why stop there
Take the dare
Make a wish
Every second of every day
Think it and it will come your way
Make a wish

Ooh, saving this. Wise words.

My desire to hear you say the words
 Make love to me
Bring my lifeless body back
Awaken my every senses
From their slumber, tonight
I touch touch your skin
So that it's softness may be reminded
Caressing your lips
So they are not be undefined
Holding you close
 Do not close your eyes
Make love to me
Make me feel alive inside you say

Misty Blue what I find in you is nothing shy of the details that everyone is lacking
Your hair your smile the way you walk with each staring glance the acalades keep stacking
You dance the dance with the with grace and style for just a day with you I'd walk several miles
Your staring glance has me hypnotized I'm stunned my heart belongs to someone
I must turn and run. Wait!!! Do I dare? Is there just one chance that many
a day we could dance the dance?   Your rare and a gem I must not deny
As I look at your beauty I begin to cry. With some small part of me that wants
to die.  Maybe just maybe your bless me this day by sending a message just
throw it my way. Speak to me or just let me know but sooner or latter
the wind that binds together soon will blow. Just letting you know that your
a vision of purity a vision that can only be classified as loves security

Pandora's Box

The world is outside.
I am in here,
Hidden from view.
Spring entices, flaunting her finery,
Gold, white and pink
Against a backdrop of blue and green.
The birds, dark beads,
Swim through the sea of fabric to
Accentuate the splendour of her gown.
Heedless and unmoved, I watch
With the careless eyes of a stranger,
For skin covers and bones hide
Pandora's Box, open inside.

God protect the beauty
Of this blossoming world.
Build thick walls around the heart
That would contaminate such a land.

What a wonderful way to describe the beauty of nature. I particularly like the part speaking on our responsibility to preserve this beautiful earth. You are very talented.

Free Spirits

In his eyes I see a child at play,
Hunting dragons on a Summer’s day.
Clutching rainbows in the palm of his hand,
He makes his stand.
Jewels scattered throughout a patchwork land,
Fireflies of light in the velvet night,
A blazing torch from a dream-touched eye,
Free spirits shine.

[chorus]
Horizons are wider, fires burn brighter,
Souls that are searching for something beyond,
And the shores of Ithaca call them on,
And the shores of Ithaca call them on.

Drawn as a moth to a burning flame,
Pulled like the sea to the farthest shore,
I believe in his quest, knowing he is
Born to fly high.
His wings stretch out to the dawn’s first breeze.
My heart soars with him in new found flight,
The dragon is slain, glory is won,
Dream realized.

[bridge]
The beauty of flight so wide and free,
Pierces my soul with steel destiny.
The bird soaring high in the azure sky
Doesn’t look down, leaves me behind.

Horizons are wider, fires burn brighter,
Souls that are searching for something beyond,
And the shores of Ithaca call them on,
And the shores of Ithaca call them on.

That's really beautiful, Misty_Blue.

Healing

A radiant glow, a tingling heat
Coarses veins
And with spring sap rising
New growth begins

A passing glance, the delicate brush
Of outstretched fingers
Fans flames of recognition,
Soothing hearts

Healing hands gently fashion
A new thread
In the silken web
Strung with dewdrops of promiseå

beautiful prose.

folks check this one out:

Dance With Me Tonight

  Author: Kristi Day

I want to dance with you for a life time
Hold you close to my heart,
Stop the hands of time
Make the world give us a little more time.

To feel our bodies close swaying together
To music that only we can hear,
Letting it sweep us into Heaven
Come, dance with me there.

We'll dance forever; never let go
Hearts in tune hand to hand,
Building love between us
That we barely can stand.

Candles low no bright lights
Our love will light the way,
Come hold me close; dance with me
Til the night breaks to day.

Feel our bodies pressed close
As close as skin to skin,
Open your heart to me baby
Come on, let me in
Fill my senses with your rush
Let me taste your deep kiss,
Hold me tightly to your heart.
Never have I felt like this
Never will I feel it again
For within your arms I've died,
I've gone to heaven in your love
These are happy tears I've cried.

Never have I been so loved
Or felt so much love for anyone,
Dance with me honey
Until the night is done.

Dance with me until the world is done
I can't resist your charms,
Dance with me and hold me close
Let me die within your arms.

Don't ever let me go
Dancing with you is so right,
I will never let you go
Come .... dance with me tonight.

I like this one:

BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART

Author: Unknown

Believe in your heart that
something wonderful is about to happen.
Love your life.
Believe in your own powers,
and your own potential,
and in your own innate goodness.
Wake every morning
with the awe of just being alive.
Discover each day the magnificent,
awesome beauty in the world.
Explore and embrace life in yourself
and in everyone you see each day.
Reach within to find your own specialness.
Amaze yourself and rouse those around you
to the potential of each new day.
Don't be afraid to admit
that you are less than perfect;
this is the essence of your humanity.
Let those who love you help you.
Trust enough to be able to take.
Look with hope to the horizon of today,
for today is all we truly have.
Live this day well.
Let a little sun out as well as in.
Create your own rainbows.
Be open to all your possibilities;
all possibilities and Miracles.

I just came across this one. it is pretty cool. simple but cool:

Angel In The Night

Author: Angel

You're my angel in the night
you're everything i think of
everything i dream of.
Yours is the voice i hear when
The moon steals the day.

Yours is the voice
i hear when the sun sneaks
in to warm me.
When my heart aches with lifes pains,
you are my angel.

I never expected someone like you.
Someone kind and loving as you.
You snuck into my life like a true
angel in the night.
Loving you is the only thing that
brought me this far.

Cuz' your my angel in the night.

Title: Re: MISTY BLUE POETRY
Post by: Clay Death on March 28, 2015, 08:46:10 pm
I first discovered edgar allen poe in high school. I was 12 years old.

ANNABELLE LEE

Author: Edgar Allan Poe

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love -
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.
And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulcher
In this kingdom by the sea.
The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me
Yes! that was the reason
(as all men know, In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we
Of many far wiser than we
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.
For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride,
In the sepulcher there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

An Enslaved Love

Author: Mikaal Wilson

Dreams, drifting, deepened and watered,
Lonesome, sunken and so battered,
Cast away like dead mans corpse,
Shipwrecked on lifes long mysterious course,
Crying, raging from the soul within,
For a love lost, crushed and aching.

Clinging to a life that knows no care,
Im sinking beneath a million tears,
Captured, enslaved and compelled by a love
That only your heart can free me of
A love thats saddened and filled with fear,
To be enriched by your loves sweet tear.

did you see this one:

A KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR

Author: Anonymous

In this world full of hurt and pain,
I need someone who would help me through the rain.
To comfort me when Im sad,
Doing everything just to make me glad.

In this world I need a Brave Knight,
Who would never give up any fight.
A knight who would dry away my tears,
Telling me to overcome my fears.

A knight who loves me for who I am inside,
With him there's nothing more I need to hide.
A person who will still be standing strong,
Eventhough everything has gone wrong.

I need someone who is willing to give me more,
Someone I can call my Knight In Shining Armor.

check this one out lady Misty. I posted it at the other poetry thread also.

John Donne was simply amazing.

Song

 by John Donne

Go and catch a falling star,
Get with child a mandrake root,
Tell me where all past years are,
 Or who cleft the devils foot;
Teach me to hear mermaids singing,
Or to keep off envy's stinging,
 And find
 What wind
Serves to advance an honest mind.

If thou be'st born to strange sights,
 Things invisible to see,
Ride ten thousand days and nights
 Till Age snow white hairs on thee;
Thou, when thou return'st wilt tell me
All strange wonders that befell thee,
 And swear
 No where
Lives a woman true and fair.

 If thou find'st one let me know;
 Such a pilgrimage were sweet.
Yet do not; I would not go,
Though at next door we might meet.
Though she were true when you met her,
And last, till you write your letter,
 Yet she

check this one out lady Misty. I just discovered it:

Distant light

by Walid Khazindar

 Harsh and cold
autumn holds to it our naked trees:
If only you would free, at least, the sparrows
from the tips of your fingers
and release a smile, a small smile
from the imprisoned cry I see.
 Sing! Can we sing
as if we were light, hand in hand
sheltered in shade, under a strong sun?
 Will you remain, this way
stoking the fire, more beautiful than necessary, and quiet?
 Darkness intensifies
and the distant light is our only consolation —
that one, which from the beginning
has, little by little, been flickering
and is now about to go out.
Come to me. Closer and closer.
I don't want to know my hand from yours.
And let's beware of sleep, lest the snow smother us.

I like this one a lot also:

— Valentine

by Elinor Wylie

Too high, too high to pluck
 My heart shall swing.
A fruit no bee shall suck,
 No wasp shall sting.

If on some night of cold
 It falls to ground
 In apple-leaves of gold
 I’ll wrap it round.

And I shall seal it up
 With spice and salt,
 In a carven silver cup,
 In a deep vault.

 Before my eyes are blind
 And my lips mute,
I must eat core and rind
 Of that same fruit.

 Before my heart is dust
 At the end of all,
Eat it I must, I must
 Were it bitter gall.

But I shall keep it sweet
 By some strange art;
 Wild honey I shall eat
 When I eat my heart.

 O honey cool and chaste
 As clover’s breath!
 Sweet Heaven I shall taste
 Before my death.

You are finding some great pieces.  They both made me smile and conjured up some great images.  I love the stories they create in your head. Aren't words just the coolest thing?

indeed.

some of these we probably came across in high school. it is just fun finally understanding them better now.

we have great poetry everywhere now here.

have you see this one by Emily Dickinson?

Wild Nights--Wild Nights!

 Wild nights--wild nights!
 Were I with thee
 Wild nights should be
 our luxury!

 Futile the winds
 To heart in port--
 Done with the compass,
 Done with the chart!

 Rowing in Eden--
 As the sea!
 Might I moor, tonight,
 In thee!

Thank you so much for the beautiful images and your support! :)

After Travel
Weary peace.
A time to pause.
Glass of wine reflects warm fire
As bittersweet memories of laughter
Bubble into the candlelit tub.
Satisfaction flowing with sadness,
Mingling in the languid depths
Acceptance. Resolution.
One small ending.
Returning home.

superb compositions/prose as always.

Our worlds are shaped
So I am told
By what we, each of us, behold
And everything you say or do
Is altered by the way I view.

We act as though our worlds are one
"Right is right and wrong is wrong"
When actually there's more, you see
We each have our own reality.

You offer apples sweet and red,
Yet I see poison in my head.
I tender loving compliments,
You twist my words and take offense.

That gorgeous shade I see, of green,
Perhaps, in your eyes, is not seen.
And all the rose tint that I view,
May be for you some other hue.

My world you cannot know I fear
Tho' I would share what I find here:
A peace that's rich, a love that's true
A beauty rare, a joy to view

Each stranger's heart I hope will be
The one to truly see like me
I search the earth whereve'er I roam
For worlds, the mirror of my own

If this is true as it would seem
I am the ruler of my dream
Thus I control what happens here
And how each person does appear

And curious as it seems to be
This world does, in fact, revolve round me!!

I am pretty sure you have heard about Sylvia Plath. I read about her in high school.

I posted this at the other thread also. this also looks like a classic by Sylvia Plath:

Mad Girl's Love Song

by Sylvia Plath

 I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

The stars go waltzing out in blue and red,
 And arbitrary blackness gallops in:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I dreamed that you bewitched me into bed
And sung me moon-struck, kissed me quite insane.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

God topples from the sky, hell's fires fade:
 Exit seraphim and Satan's men:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I fancied you'd return the way you said,
But I grow old and I forget your name.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

 I should have loved a thunderbird instead;
At least when spring comes they roar back again.
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

The first song I ever attempted-it's better with music, trust me  :)
Inside the moment

I was looking for the joy inside the moment
I'd been searching for so long to understand
And all my prayers were answered in that instant
that you matched me stride for stride and held my hand

Chorus:- And our love it soared across the heavens
There was beauty in all that we could see
But the peaceful river has it's destination
in the cold unfeeling depths of brutal sea

You opened up a door that led to freedom
And I found a me I'd never known inside
I stepped into a world of fascination
That holds me fast in spite of tears we cried

Chorus:- And our love it sparkled like the sunlight
There was wonder in all that held my gaze
And I truly thought we'd be forever
But forever is the sum of numbered days

Bridge:- Do you believe we all have destinations
Perhaps my lesson's written in the stars
Like Eve I traded innocence for knowledge
And the learning quenched my thirst but left me scarred

My pain it swelled like waves upon the ocean
And the loss was all that I could see
But the beauty of forgiveness brought me healing
And moving on has made me truly free

So now I live the joy in every moment
And I reach out to the world with both my hands
And my love returns to me in countless measure
Like caressing of the waves upon the sands
------Like caressing of the waves upon the sands

amazing.

Waiting

Excitement is the sparkle in my vein,
A tingling, secret, effervescent hope,
That sneaks up on an unexpected moment
To tantalize my senses with your name.

The drumbeat of my heart pounds out a hum,
The rhythm of the tires upon the road,
That carry you toward me with each second
That passes, as I drift beneath the sun.

Like a child awaiting dream's fulfillment
Anticipation will not be restrained
I pray your gentle heart will still be loving
And grant the tenderness that my soul craves.

I long to lie within your warm embrace
And watch again the sparkle on the sea
So as you bridge the distance that's between us,
I hope that you have not forgotten me.

I just came across this one. it caught my eye:

Colors Of Love

I've been thinking of a painting
That I've created in my mind
It's a painting of something special
For which colors are hard to find
 I've searched all over
Even the rainbow that leads to the gold
In hope of finding those special colors
 For my canvas to hold

I know this painting would turn out right
If I had those colors to start
 Special colors full of emotions
From which I could paint from my heart
 I'm not really a painter
Just a person with an empty palette of dreams
Someone searching for the color of love
And searching forever as it seems

What is the color of love
And why is it so hard to find
I know exactly what it looks like
But I only see it in my mind
Perhaps those colors are already with me
 Somewhere deep inside
And can only be released through my emotions
 Which I know I just can't hide

There's a masterpiece in my heart
Which my canvas will soon acquire
And with every brush stroke that I'd make
It soon would be ready to admire
 Where is that special color
That I need so very much
 To add to my palette
And give my painting its one final touch

This vision I have in my mind
Is really a painting of you
 There's no need for rainbows
Only feelings that I know are true
I believe with all my heart
That love is any color you want it to be
For a masterpiece painted with love
Can be very special, for you and for me

Swim at the surface, Surf on the wave
Keep to the shallows my Dear
The ocean's depth do not think to brave
The current will pull you away.
Stay here in this moment, Glance briefly ahead
Don't linger too long in the past
Use every second and fill it with joy
Worry not how long it will last.
Stay light, keep it bright
Brush away tears with a smile
Give strength, hold a hand
And just be together a while.
When a loved one is fading
Life's light growing dim
There's so little else we can do
Than hang onto the love
And pray God above
Through the battle that soon Death will win

Camelot

Mystical realm at our fingertips,
Breathes with a life of its own,
Calling those destined to find it
And come to its landscape alone.
Its presence entirely surrounds us,
It is everywhere all at one time.
Its nurturing beauty is gentle,
Its scenery, always sublime.
In a blink of an eye we can be there,
Finding wonders at every turn.
Unmarked by the passing of seasons
Its fields full of talent can bloom.
Lit by a glow that's unchanging
It owns neither moon nor a sun
And timeless encounters there teach us
In joy we become all as one.
This land we behold is a blessing
Escape, its Creators true gift
And those who wander its vistas
Find meaning to save those adrift.

Oh my. You did not create that. I refuse to believe tht such talent is amongst up and has encapsulated out little haven so succinctly. This is powerful.

Massage

Eyes closed, alone in the dark
Breathe the jasmine on the warm night air.
Sense the wildlife, cautious movement
In the verdant gardens

Waiting...

A warm touch.
Strong hands seek out tension
Lure tight muscles to yield,
Submitting to demanding pressure.

Sensuous fingers send shivers
Tingling through nerves
Cool breeze kisses heated skin
Desire seduced into yearning.
A slow smile, a sigh,
The night begins...

That's nice. I like poetry that I can understand and relate too. Amazing creativity.

you said you liked Percy's love poem "Love's philosophy".

here is another one by Percy:

Music, When Soft Voices Die

Music, when soft voices die,
Vibrates in the memory --
Odours, when sweet violets sicken,
Live within the sense they quicken.

Rose leaves, when the rose is dead,
Are heap'd for the beloved's bed;
And so thy thoughts when thou are gone,
Love itself shall slumber on.

Space Between Moments

In the space between moments
There's a magical glow
Irresistably calling
Wherever I go

Though I pass through the day
With no seeming care
My senses collude
My mind is not there

It was stolen away
With a touch and a kiss
And it sends me back whispers
Of gentlest bliss

The dream is a smile
On lips and in eyes
Like the sea plays on sand
And the sun warms the skies

This is very pretty. Very soft, gentle, and relaxing. Amazing what words can do, isn't it?

this poem by Percy is an absolute masterpiece. I first came across this when I was in high school:

Love's Philosophy

The fountains mingle with the river,
 And the rivers with the ocean;
The winds of heaven mix forever,
 With a sweet emotion;
 Nothing in the world is single;
All things by a law divine
 In one another's being mingle;--
 Why not I with thine?

See! the mountains kiss high heaven,
 And the waves clasp one another;
No sister flower would be forgiven,
 If it disdained it's brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea;--
What are all these kissings worth,
 If thou kiss not me?

 - Percy Bysshe Shelley

Enchanted

My soul is enchanted.
My thoughts, like a compass drawn north,
Seek unerringly images in my mind,
Moments in time,
Backlit by the sun, warmed by your glow.

Your soft touch and gentle kiss linger on my skin,
Whispering satin, siren song,
Seeet harmony to the refrain of my heart
A treasure encountered, a gift bestowed.

pure magic lady Misty Blue.

thank you so much for sharing your amazing poetry with your Camelot family members and also the world.

this is truly remarkable creativity on your part.

Space Between Moments

In the space between moments
There's a magical glow
Irresistably calling
Wherever I go

Though I pass through the day
With no seeming care
My senses collude
My mind is not there

It was stolen away
With a touch and a kiss
And it sends me back whispers
Of gentlest bliss

The dream is a smile
On lips and in eyes
Like the sea plays on sand
And the sun warms the skies

Journey's End

As the final rays of sun
Slant through the rustling trees
And the chorus of night stirs across the forest,
The ocean waves darken in the twilight
And hush against the slender shoulders of the shore

May peace slip sweetly through your weariness
To ease the pain within your soul
Relieving tension from the ache and strain of day
And restoring you with hope and love anew

As moonbeams frolic on the surface of the land
And strangers shun the glowing beauty for their beds
May you sense the heart that hold you closely
And sends you joy as you reach your Journey's end

This is beautiful. Very relaxing. What a nice poem to read before retiring for the night.

Healing

A radiant glow, a tingling heat
Coarses veins
And with spring sap rising
New growth begins

A passing glance, the delicate brush
Of outstretched fingers
Fans flames of recognition,
Soothing hearts

Healing hands gently fashion
A new thread
In the silken web
Strung with dewdrops of promiseå

A Universe Away

Moonbeam spills through velvet night
To steal a touch upon thy face
And softly her pearlescent light
Enfolds thee in her cool embrace

Through pillowed dreams on wings and prayer
Morpheus, inside thy head
Leads thee to dimensions where
Men's mortal feet will never tread

I reach to soothe thy furrowed brow
And run my fingers through thy hair
Easing thine exhausted sleep now
Freeing thee from want and care

May my love and soft caress
Ride the moonlight from above
To reach thy travels and express
The whispered sonnet of my love

Moments in time,
Quicksilver,
Drop by drop,
Coalesce to an infinite stream
Leaving me suspended on a bridge of thought,
Arching behind and stretching ahead,
As we chase the sun across the sky.
