A few days now
Months of discord
Fear meandering dressed as renegades
Clobbering each other senseless
Yet through all of these moments of hate

Look up to the synchronized serenity of the sky

Peer group pressure of pointing fingers of blame
To instigate hate
In the realm of righteousness
In the stillness do within
Break free from the game
Breath and know what appears to be menacing
Is an illusion
But the web woven
Needs to be broken
When love is encapsulated
Heals all the wounds
And fear is sedated

Snow is drifting silently from the sky
Leaving us a delicate, yet beautiful frosting on the ground
Snow capped roofs, where birds return from their multiple fly
Checking in on their surroundings
Watching over their loved ones
It’s not officially winter yet
I’m thoroughly enjoying the sights and sounds
Even through this pandemic
I can detect smiles through the squinting of the eyes
Behind the protective masks
Homeless people seem to have multiplied
Their hands jutting out for any possible gifting
A few coins here and there
As I watch them shifting in the snow.
My wish to one and all
Is peace, joy and laughter
Kindness and smiles are good for now
It’s love that we’re all after

Grateful is the heart
That recognizes the soul
That was singled out for them
From the start
Even when it seemed not to be
Trials and tribulations
Hits and misses
Finally it was WE
