Wandering through the tree lined streets
Focusing on the bright lights wrapped around the trunk and limbs
Mechanically trying to envision such a tenuous feat
On trees higher than 30 feet
The walk is clearing my head
Chaos and commotion has been such a stronghold again
Love conquers the hate that has been insipid
Last full moon of the year minding the words I’ve said
Language has been igniting like a spark on dry kindling
Fiery and powerful within minutes
Facial expressions don’t jive with the words spilling
Simpler times as a child filled with naïveté and love
Believing everyone older was full of guidance and protection
Evil lurking these last few years
Especially towards the innocent young beings
Bring up vengeance followed by tears

Set up by this delicate little flower
Amiable and gracious
With the lurking of the evil gleam of intimidation
Don’t be fooled by her coquettish guile
