That's why I like him too, maria. There's so much to learn from Rafa.
*How to handle diversity and still maintain composure in the midst of trials and tribulations.
*That you can do the right things and some people will hate you for it, but you stay strong, because at the core level you know that doing the right things will pay off in your personal life.
*That no matter how big you get, the lowliest of opponents should still be treated with the same dignity and respect afforded those with more padded resumes.
*And when you lose you accept it with equanimity and grace and refuse to talk down your opponents.
*No matter how many you fall down, you get back up, and continue to persevere.
*To ignore the haters, because you understand that the problem lies with them and most of their foolishness does not need to be addressed.
*To wake up daily seeking improvement from the day before.
*To never rest on your laurels and think that you have arrived--a sure fire method for a much needed lesson in humility.
*To work hard and ignore the hype; you can be confident in your abilities without being arrogant that you possess them.
It is these qualities that make me a forever fan, of the man, not just the player.
