This is the time of the year when we reflect on our blessings and the spiritual messages that mean the most. In a new book called Country Faith, music stars have done just that---and the results make for inspired reading.
From Charlie Daniels to Miranda Lambert to Scotty McCreery, 56 artists talk about their favorite bible verses and the impact those verses have had on their lives.
For Daniels, It's Psalm 91, which he committed to memory. He calls it "one of God's presents. It's saying "I've got you son. I've got you covered."
McCreery is partial to Philippians 4:13 ("I can do all this through him who gives me strength"), recalling how the citation appears on the baseball caps he wore as a kid.
And Lambert, who is married to Blake Shelton, likes Proverbs 12:4 ("A wife of a noble character is her husband's crown"), which she says is "tattooed on my heart."
The Scriptures most often chosen were Romans 8:28 ("And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose") and Jeremiah 29:11 ("For I know the plans I have for you, plans to give you hope and the future").
See who draws comfort from these words and spend a little time with Carrie Underwood, Wynonna, Brad Paisley, and many other stars.
