Give you enough rope
To show me if you're full of integrity
Time after time as youve promised me
Trust is a two way street
Just over time
Met those that often had lies to compete
Shattered to realize their efforts were
Full of manipulation
Too many situations
Where I was gutted in devastation
Whether lovers or "true" friends
Their definitions far varied from mine
Still after all that pain
I still give everyone I meet
Hoping that they too
Are truly kind
Quite a feat
