Picture perfect
Smile so bright
Twinkle in the eyes
Whispers echoing past the lips
Stories yet to be shared
Taken last month
Oh, how time flies
At closer inspection
The mirror of the soul
Hides secrets
Skeletons in the closet
Sharing only the tips
Of vast icebergs
Fear of being dismissed
Fear of ridicule
Fear of judgement

The portrait reveals
A smiling image
It’s what the world wants to see
And believe
So long as it’s
Picture perfect
