Fear...
Of being hurt
Fear of all the pain
Fear of listening to them spirt
All of the hurtful blame
Fear of taking a step
Fear of all the shame
Fear of wanting what we deserve
Fear of living this life as a game
Fear immobilizes
Fear keeps us petrified
Fear gives strength to their lies
Only real eyes
Realize
It's all to subliminize
Us into oblivion
Of indecision

Feeling broken
When I reach out to help
And I cannot reach them

Feeling broken
When I watch the tears fall
And I cannot stop them

Feeling broken
When I see fear written in your eyes
And I cannot change them

Feeling broken
Watching your shoulders slumped with pain
And I cannot change the refrain

Felling broken
For no matter how I try
To help you
You won't let me
I know not why

My need to help
Just to see you smile again
Feel your heart shine
See the crinkle in your eyes
What do I gain
Simply to see your soul shine for thine

Disconsolateness
Is forming a weave
Around my heart
It's been squeezing tightly
For a while now
Dispiritedness
Where hatred seems to be
The focal point
Every ones nose is
Out of joint
Illusion of truth
Belies the intent
Hopelessness
Watching people's content
Their actions prove
The written word
Is plagued with lies
Listlessness
For our definitions
Vary from our perceptions
Filled with common deceptions
Sorrowfulness

Weather has been tempermental
Just like all the people on this planet Earth
We're hitting record highs
Monumental
Hot & humid
Not for the timid
Thank God for air conditioners & fans
Exercising outdoors plans
On hold for the next two days
Simple walk is an effort as it now stands
Blessed we are in my neck of the woods
All the seasons evolve for us
It's good
Killer hot Wednesday & Thursday
As in all extremes
We stop in our tracks
Some of our routines have to take a step back
Soon we will be chatting about winter
Hard to believe a few more months to this year
Make every moment count
Release all fear
Keep hydrated
Even with an ice cold beer

Sometimes it hurts just to breathe
It feels so hard
Twisting of the knots in my tummy
Feels like a penetrating shard
Intensity of stress
Has made me doubt myself
All of this duress
Feel the need to scream welling
Need to thrust out
Shaking in stoicism
Awaiting recompense
Dislike it how my brain is dwelling
Worrisome thoughts have prevailed
Words have no merit
Need action to set sail
Awaiting another hour of suspense
Whilst the phone is in hand
Looking at the screen
Feel like a rubber band
Certain number is left unseen
Head is overthinking
Which inevitably causes spinning
So futile this suffocating
Ultimately no one is winning
Insomniacs battle counting
The minutes
The hours
Anxiety is another branch of fear
Wanting to breathe deeply
In hopes all will be fine
Allow it to ebb
To disappear
Looking forward
To viewing things
Seeing clear
