CAMELOT FANTASIES

Quiet of the busy city streets is echoing the eerie silence
Street lights remain constant
Flash green, amber and red
It’s rhythmic continual circuit
Cycle remains unbroken so long as the electricity is active
Humidity is at it’s all time high this summer
Aching for a slight breeze
To ease some of the silence
Just a whisper of a breeze
To ease this hot humid night
Unable to sleep
Aching for the cacophony I’m used to
Cars, buses, motorcycles
Revving their engines
Up and down my usually busy street
Eerie silence feels other worldly
Like we stepped into another realm

I wrote my heart on my sleeve for you to read
For you to see the love was real
The words written bloomed like the rose in full bloom at the end of June
With all the ache of this plandemic
The garden bloomed in its beauteous ways
Made my summer full of love and promises
Words tumbled surreptitiously
In my garden of colored dreams

Did you listen to o the calm after the thunderstorm
The crackling and loud thunders stretching across
The expanse of the midnight sky
The moons light hidden behind the darkened skies filled with stratocumulus clouds
Barring the views
Loud bursts followed my stagnating elemental cumulonimbus clouds magnifying their largess
Cloudburst to let the heaven rain upon weakened living beings
Fear has scarred all of us for the rest of our lives
Drizzle turned to sleet and heavy downpour
Hiding the screams that makes our throat sore
Rocking ourselves to ease the fear and pain that furtively plays on the surface
Hoping the rocking to soothe
Discovering the tears that are running down this scared face
Tears are not from fear
Tears are sadness that has filled this earth, this place we call home

Words sound like an echo in an empty home
Hollow and eerie
Cries causing shivers up my spine
We’re wasting time
Lies spill out of their mouths
Like waterfalls in spring
Sadness fills the air
For all the deaths we’ve yet to see
If we don’t push back
Life won’t mean a thing

Look adversity in the face
Wink
As an intuitive you ‘know’ between the truth and a lie
Nod
To make them believe they are right
Shrug
When they try to force you to respond
Strike
Back with words, to put them in their place
But do it in a gentle tone
One they least expect
