At school, in groups, social media
We all try to fit in
Try to be something we are not
Through dress, opinions, vocation
Wanting, no needing to please

Every single one of us has experienced
Some type of bullying
Where 2 or more people who seem more powerful
Pick on you incessantly
Seemingly
Like an exact opposite view

Not true

There is joy in fitting in
Despair in being the odd one out

The outsider has always been
The person you look in the mirror

Show the outsider some love

Make judgements that
Hurt deep and quick
Smiles hide the manipulations
Masks frozen emotionless
The need to be right
Pushes propriety to the side
Egos need to usurp
Friendships destruction
Years to build
Moments to destroy

Then chance meetings with people you write to and have not met.
Even in the same city.
Twitter or any social media where we hide behind avatars that do not show our selves.

Mixed emotions come bubbling up as it’s Christmas Eve.
2020 has been so difficult
2020 has also been new beginnings for me

Maybe it’s time to take a plunge. Let’s see

Endings are inevitable.
Transmutation is inevitable
I desire this.


Pushed into a difficult position.
Do I still strive
Or do I surrender.

All relationships are being questioned.
Didn’t realize mine with My Father would be
Yet I’ve asked forgiveness.
Grateful for so many things.
Tears have spilled forth effortlessly these last few nights.
Strange. My silence has not triggered anything in those close.
