I'm ready too. Finally, we get to see Rafa again. I haven't enjoyed tennis since he's been gone. The rest of the tour seems so bland. Hopefully the season will heat up again. Although I am not expecting that he'll be ready. It'll still be good to see someone with so much passion for the game.

andy beat rafa 6-2, 6-0.

I had a feeling that was going to happen.

rafa has slipped so much and the biggest reason is injuries.

he has also let his fitness slip which is what led to all those injuries.


he has to got get off the damn hard courts for a while after the Australian Open.


he needs to get on clay go find his ground game. he is nothing without his ground game and his physicality.

he is missing those 2 things.

Rafa has not played competitive tennis for over six months. I never expected him to do much against a couple of top tenners and Lopez isn't bad either.

It takes time to hone your competitive instincts and get back in the groove. I just want to see Rafa, the game will follow. This is the worst time of the season, so I'm not expecting much. Everything in time. That's how I see it.

I just wonder if he fully into it anymore.

there is such a dramatic drop in fitness and his physicality.



bottom line: clay is the surface that can rescue him and his game


but he has to start paying more attention to his fitness. he is healthy now.

looks like everybody has left the building.


no worries. tennis was in its off season and then we had x-mas  and new year. people are usually busy with their families at this time.

I've no doubt he's lost some of his physicality. The last couple of years he's had a lot of time off the tour. I'm sure the stop/start has a lot to do with not being able to be consistently consistent. Still, he's at the top of the game regardless. Two or three isn't bad when you've spent six months off the tour. I don't know how many people would be able to boast that.

Yeah, tennis was pretty boring for me without Rafa. I was just fast forwarding through matches, except for the WTA. On the ATP you can almost correctly predict more matches.

But me, I was having some issues. For one, the drugs they were giving me were too strong for my body; a coI nclusion I had already reached considering that I can't handle a mixed drink, a beer, or a glass of wine. So, I was thinking that on my way to the doctor's office and sure enough they had reached the same conclusion.

Now, they're letting my body recuperate and rid itself of the effects of the drugs. So I have been slowly recovering, but it's all good. We have to be grateful for all of God's many blessings. Things could always be worse and I am glad that I now know what a blessing good health is. I understand it in a way I never did before, so in itself is a gift.

I saw that. It looked like him and Pico had a ball playing together. At least that's a bright spot, winning a title has to make him feel good.

There were reports surfacing that Rafa might not play the Australian, but he has confirmed that he will. I don't expect him to get that far though. This time he's coming back on hard court and his game isn't grooved yet. Still, I'm hoping that he has a great year and adds to his major total.I 'm optimistic that way, LOL!

He will find a way to get it done at Roland Garros.

He will eventually get on a roll on clay.
