SLEEP WALKS

Sleep walks...
on rain slick cobblestone streets
candle light flickers
from moistened window panes
neurotic images play on rewind
of bullets gone astray
and of empty words with nothing left to say
dreams consumed in eternal sleep
echo deafeningly across vacant landscapes
Sleep walks...
quiet and undisturbed
leering...smiling through every window it observes
so fragile are the children
restless from the haunts of daylight dreams
until they fade away
distorted ghostly forms
wander aimlessly down rain slick cobblestone streets
as Sleep stops to ponder
the restless minds and the games they play...
bells chime eerily from across the bay
and the rain's endless patter
twine together beneath this shade of grey
Sleep returns to its endless wander
its a journey that man cannot begin to ponder
down rain slick cobblestone streets
where candlelight flickers
