Thank you very much, Clay. I'm working on 3 longer pieces at the moment & some of our shops & market stalls have already started selling in old measures again so I'm getting out the old maths books & self-educators to remind me of conversion tables so if I'm following recipes I'm getting the right amount etc. I remember 1 1/2 cm = 1 inch, 1 3/4 pints = 1 litre & 2.2 lbs = 1 kg.
I've got antique weighing scales. I'm very busy at the moment so please bear with me.

We used to use both after we joined the E.U. but the E.U. told us to stop doing it. Someone was fined for selling fruit in lbs. We started only selling goods in metric then. Since we found out we are going to leave the E.U. some shops & stalls are starting to sell goods in imperial again.

Thank you very much. We'll get through it when they get the ball rolling. All this learning is taking my mind off all the name-calling & racism. I'm doing something more constructive instead. I'm not stupid like some of the remainers are calling us leavers. I've got a brain. I'll use it for learning all these weights & measures & doing a few calculations. It might do me good. I can carry on with the writing after. I did pick something else up. The word democracy comes from the Greek words demos & crasia meaning power of the ordinary people. Ordinary people used to rule the country in Ancient Greek times like butcher's & baker's & they got someone else to run their shops for them while they sorted out important issues in the running of their country. Bearing this in mind I don't think any country in our world today could really call itself a true democracy.
