I made some last minute plan with a friend and sister and had a lovely dinner so couldn't be here, sorry! It was a lovely evening, really, with sun setting before our eyes and the wine couldn't taste any better. We had Chinese food. Though Italian would have been nicer given DC, you know what I mean but the wine was Italian. haha and we drank it all.

Now I am going to bed as I'd like to wake up to watch my man's match early in the morning. He's up against Fognini tomorrow who, btw, thrives on clay. He's very aggressive even on clay as he doesn't typically care about which surface he's on. He's even given Nadal tough time on clay in the past but he can definitely be broken down if you hang in there with  him for a while. He doesn't have the patience and will go for his shots, so Andy needs to play a smart match against him. Andy can definitely cause more errors on Fognini's part than usual and eventually break down his aggressive game. Frustrate him if you will. Fognini must be ticked off after losing today's doubles and may come out firing all cylinders, but that shouldn't last long if Andy hangs in there equally strong and tough.  Fognini is kind of his own enemy so that too will go against him but let's see. I like Fognini's style though and like him very much as a player. He has those Italian flavour in him. Anyway....

I don't care about DC you know but I like to support Andy regardless and this is clay, so this can never hurt. In fact, this is part of the ground work he needs to do before he sees a bit more success on his worst surface. Clay, as in.

Ok, Good night! See you all tomorrow.

Fog is a cool player. he has become quite popular around the globe now that he is top 20 material. he seems to have a flair for the dramatic as they say.

that being said, I think Andy is too consistent and too clever for Fog. I cant see the match going more than 4 sets.
it may even be a straight sets affair.

night emma. see you next time around.

Morning herc and all.

I kind of half saw it coming but of course I had more faith in Andy. I actually found it really frustrating to watch on a live stream as the sun was too bright and I could never see the ball. I only saw a couple of players running from side to side so after about half an hour of watching like that, I just closed it and started following the scoreboard.

So from that kind of watching, one can hardly give a proper view of the match but I do know Andy looked sluggish and against Fognini and a crowd like that, one needs to bring his top game. But to be fair, players have to deal with the same kind of opposition when they play Andy at Wimbledon, Queens etc. And Fognini too played 3 days in a row. So no excuses there from Andy's perspective.

Looking at the stats, Andy did commit far too many unforced errors, more so than Fognini I believe, which is uncharacteristic and unfortunate for the type of game he plays. And while his 1st serve % was slightly higher than Fognini, it was Fog who was able to make the most out of it. Same with 2nd serve but I do contribute that to the surface which comes far more naturally to Fog. He also hit about 25+ forehand winners and more backhand winners than Andy.

So I do think while Fog brought his best game, Andy didn't and on top of that, Fognini is definitely one of the top ten players as far as clay is concerned. He's in very good shape this year despite the injuries.

Tough loss for Andy, yes, but hopefully he'll get over it. I don't think he's 100% matchfit yet and he'll need to get there soon. He has to let the clay season go so that he can concentrate on the upcoming seasons later this year starting from mid-June.

Now I am hoping Ward would lose so that Andy can go back to his individual career and let DC drop from his schedule.

Yeah, Seppi has taken the first two sets so I think this is it for the GB team. I do think they have plenty chances ahead as Andy is likely to play until at least he's 32 so no super rush there.

Kukushkin is struggling to stay alive against Wawrinka as the Swiss is now 2 sets to 1 up and on serve in the 4th. Not that I care about that anymore but just wanted to give the scores since I am following Ward on the scoreboard.

I believe it's already a great achievement for Kazakhstan to beat the Swiss team in the doubles and put the team in 2-1 against the Swiss.

OMG - I am totally LOLing after reading this thread. It was hilarious and thoroughly enjoyed reading the thread. What a hoot! I do think the OP has a big crush on Andy as well. lol

What was funnier was the take by some Federer fans. They not only got jealous at the mention of it, but also were too quick to show that there are guys who have 'crush' on Federer too. lolol. Oh these kids, really. Federer comes off as metrosexual and typical gays will be far more interested in guys like Murray than Federer. But forget that, Federer fans must bring Federer into everything even when the topics have nothing to do with their idol. Ad nauseam stuff really.

I think Federer fans should have their own planet, you know? And call it Federer Nation. And leave rest of us alone. They can live there happily forever and have children and name them Baby Fed 1, Baby Fed 2, Baby Fed 3...you get the gist. Their obsession requires a separate planet otherwise it feels like as if we are living in a planet plagued by this self divided growing germ called 'Federer Fan' and it never really dies. They have this ability to infect anything and everything they see. I can totally see baron being the Prime Minister and Masterclass being his right hand. lolollol

So clay season is officially upon us as we start with Monte Carlo next week. Can't say I am really looking forward to it. I am primarily a Murray fan and clay is not Andy's forte. On top of that, I never really liked this surface and I am sure my mind is not going to change any time soon. So given all that, I do find this season quite boring. However there are still a few things to look forward to. For a start, I'd like to see how Nole is going to fare and if he's going to make any true difference come RG. I don't care about the Masters since he's beaten Nadal there a few times.  It's still RG where he'll need to man up. He came really awfully close last time. Will he convert this time? The only thing he's lacking is the mental game against Nadal at RG. Other than that, I'd like to see how some of my other favourite players fare in this season. It's going to be interesting to see if anyone in particular is going to rise and shine out of nowhere. Chances are slim but I am always hopeful.

herc darling, if you were to write 5 things about me that you feel I have the gift for it or rather deeply passionate about - what will those be? 5 things are probably a bit much so 3 will do too, but push yourself, yo. ;)

I am self analyzing this week. Pros first, you see. ;D

Me being independent is quite right. My friends think I am overdoing it. If I go on a date I don't let the guy pay for my meal, drinks etc. - even on a first date. This is just to avoid any kind of expectations from me that strikes as bit too early. But more importantly, I don't like anyone bossing me or trying to own me just as much I don't like to boss or own anyone though Alex might disagree - on a second thought. lol

Okay, cool. I think I will give Javier some kind of assignments too. Like say things that would please me only etc. haha

How about baron? What should I assign him? A poll dance? Nah...I don't think he's good at it. What about pretend to box? That should do it, really. Be in that getup of that avatar of his and pretend to box and sing, 'come with me now'. lololol
