I might add a breaking news on the movies ticker at the top of the page.

I know that entertainment is important and also fun. inquiring minds usually want to know what movies are making the waves out there.

damn it woman. you sound like a top flight movie critic.

I have not seen this movie. Clooney is popular but I don't think he is a great actor.

you know the kid of movies that I like. I am waiting to see the sequel to 300 called "The Rise of an Empire".

what other movies do you have on your list to watch?

Right now I want to see Sunshine (2007). That's a sci-fi thriller as well. I have a few others but right now I forget.

In theatre, I'd like to see Son of God that's coming out very soon but I am afraid of two things: one, this being another religious and Hollywood cliche and two, don't like the title of the movie as it's likely that they made the movie from that perspective. I am just genuinely interested in a very authentic movie based on Jesus' life from a historical point of view, where it won't give them much to manipulate. I'd like to see people sticking to the truth rather than creating something that they like or prefer to see.

Gravity is actually extremely forgettable. I couldn't even remember this morning that I'd watched Gravity last night considering the long wait for wanting to truly see it. The big budget star studded movies typically fail to deliver quite often if not all the time.

I hear ya. I have not been paying too much attention to the movies that are making the news right now.

these 2 tickers at the top will make it easier now. now all we have to do is click on the movie and we can get a quick description and even a critique about the movie.

this should save everybody time.

So I went to the mall right after I logged off but had to come back without shopping because frist of all, it took me a while just to get there (traffic) and second, I couldn't find a parking if you could believe it. It seems on a holiday like today people really have nothing better to do than to go for some mindless shopping and eating. In my own defense, I went there to buy some monthly household stuff from Target as I've almost run out of them. I thought it would be a quiet shopping if I went there today, but clearly, not. What's so wrong with people.

On a more happy note, I just received a confirmation from a friend about a trip we'll be making next month around the time of Spring break. We are going to Niagara for a weekend getaway. Can't wait!

And if you think I am being a harsh critic then please read this:

"The big "spoiler" is that this is a big budget Hollywood move with a preposterous plot and lots of special effects. The problem here is that nobody could possible survive through any of this, and the special effects become a substitute for any meaningful plot. Even taken on its own terms, the movie makes no sense. Sandra Bullock has become an astronaut but lacks even the basic skills for that occupation. She tells us she always crash landed the flight simulator, and we find her thumbing through an instruction manual about the size of the instructions for a DVD player to figure out how to safely pilot a space craft back to earth. She even picks the buttons eeny, meany, miney, mo style. Add to this the contrived scenario that she has not only lost a child but also is "revived" and given a reason to live by the now dead George Clooney appearing in a dream sequence. And how great a movie can it really be where there is only one character (and almost no dialog) on camera for most of the film. The special effects are impressive, but what they've obviously done is use computer graphics to create all the weightless effects. As such, things remain weightless even when they shouldn't be, and you eventually become more interested in looking for the screw-ups than watching the movie. Please, please, please. Will someone make a movie with a clever plot that keeps you guessing to the end and with interesting and passably believable characters."

Lol so true and very well said.  Such nonsense really especially the eeny, meany, miney mo stuff. If you have any understanding of how a space shuttle work especially in space, then you wouldn't dare to touch any button without knowing its full function. What a stinker, really.

I thought your critique was exceptional.

I don't really like these kind of movies anyway so this movie would have lasted just a few minutes with me.
