I probably shouldn't have said that I came to this place to check Andy's score of all places given that I am also kind of the co-owner of this forum. It just didn't sound all that good so I want to clarify that first before I post anything else.

It's just much more easy to get the result with one or two clicks if you go to the ATP site as opposed to any forum where it takes longer time to find out the result as you have to sort through the posts. That's all. And that's what I typically do.

But even though I was ...ahem slightly drunk, I still get why I came here first because this is my forum and I'd like to be here first regardless.

So there, my sober explanation...:)

Hi Guys, I am back. Got back actually yesterday late afternoon but I was feeling sick so wanted to rest up a lot. Called in sick today too since I don't feel I've recovered completely.

Good to be back and about to watch Andy's match.

Hope you guys are doing well. Anikh, sorry to hear about your flu. Hope you are feeling much better by now.

Hey Emma, welcome back. Did you have fun? Glad to hear you took a day off since you weren't feeling well. I used to build that extra day in at vacation time because I would be so wiped out when I got back.

Hola TT! Yes, had a lot of fun to the point it kind of sucked after we got back home. Anyway, it was a short trip so it didn't suck totally. haha.

The extra day really helped especially given that we were always on the go and towards the end, I kind of ran out of breath because of the cold issues I am having lately.

Hope you guys coping well with Nadal's loss. We haven't' seen a good win by Andy for a long time now so if he wins just one more match, we are utterly grateful. lolol

It's probably the food. Many of the casinos have world renowned chefs and their food is really good.

I know a lot of people who go to the casino for food, not the gambling.

I am sure it is but what I did notice after my handful visits to the Casinos, it's usually the older crowd who are glued to the slot machines (at least). And in fact, when we got out of the Casino I noticed there were screens on the side of the entrance wall, where they kept showing all the winners from the past and believe it or not, they all were at least 65+ years old (or at least looked that age). So that was purely based on my observation after a few visits.

I actually have no idea if herc's parents play at the Casino or not. Because he mentioned his parents and the Casino, it just reminded me my experience there just the other night.

I did wonder about all those past winners as I was walking back to my hotel and wondered how much they had to lose before they won those amounts and how much they lost after they won. They don't advertise those information so I find it very misleading.

My friend told me that she doesn't care about how much she's going to lose since she was only there to have fun, so losing money was a non factor for her. While I didn't go there particular to win or even lose, I did not have the mentality of losing and perhaps that's why I ended up winning too. And it was still fun. To each her own I guess but the mentality does play into it but perhaps not all are aware.

they play a little bit for entertainment.

I don't care for the casinos other than for their food. I prefer to throw my money at much more informed decisions like in the stock market.

So on Saturday late at night I got very curious about Andy's match because that's when it finally dawned on me that Andy was supposed to play Rosol on that day to my utter and drunk surprise. I was moderately drunk so I go online and I go to Camelot first to find out about the score (could have easily gone to ATP but no) of all places and I see this thread's name to the right top corner and the thread's name reads 'Emma's Cake'. And I was shocked! I thought 'how could herc changed my Emma's Cafe to Emma's Cake???' Only a few seconds later, after a much closer look, did I realize that I was reading the name wrong. After that I giggled a lot realizing how drunk I was. lmho!

I thought I'd share this lovely and yet drunk story with you guys. ;)

Oh Emma, that is hilarious! Emma's Cake. Sounds like you had a blast. ROFL@you. That was my laugh for the day!

After my giggling stopped, my friends did ask me what was so funny as they noticed that I was fiddling around with the phone for a while. And I had to explain it to them since they don't even know what Emma's Cafe and what's it all about. After my explanation, one of them commented that herc should change the name to Emma's Fake from Emma's Cake and that he'd be quite right too. I wanted to kick her ass but we do go after each other all the time, so I let it slide. Afterwards though, she ended up losing money at the Casino so I told her that she shouldn't be messing with God. muhahahahaha... ;D

It's alright, dearest. A little fun never hurts and perhaps good for the health.

Good to see some new posters taking the initiative and posting here and there.

Okay, so Raonic is next. Very tough opponent as Andy will have 0 luxury to lose his serve and still win. And that's a very big task to ask from Andy right now to serve confidently and go for easy holds. In fact, he is constantly on the verge of losing his serves and he often does and that's what in particular puts him in great trouble initially. And holding serve comfortably is Raonic's main strength and it almost never lets him down. You can see the key problem there now.

So what to expect? I think Andy is perfectly capable of raising his level but his form is nowhere near that. Even if his will/desire is there, he is unable to click it. But things gotta change at some point and one of the players should really does that click for him. Let's see.

Now that Nadal is out and if he gets past Raonic, then may be he can be up for a revenge against Federer but more importantly, he could very well go for the title. Asking a lot much I know but then reality is stranger than fiction!

One step at a time though. Come on, Andy! You can do it.

BTW I am having a lot of trouble with this hour loss on Sunday. Times are just flying since then and before I know it, it's bedtime. Not sure when I'll get used to the new hour adjustment. The days are longer though but it just hasn't started to feel that way; in fact, feels the opposite. Oh well...

I hope Andy can snatch this title. I will be cheering for him.

the heavy favorite is probably Nole. and also Federer.

they are monsters of the hard courts. I cant see anybody getting by them as they have simply too much experience and they are healthy and fit.

Andy has to be one of the favorites too at the moment should Federer falter or have a bad day at the office. anything can happen once you land in the final.

Andy is only favourite on paper because of his past history - 2 times slams champion etc. but his current form is another matter as he's quite vulnerable to lose to basically anybody.

Anyway, just finished watching a bit of Nadal/Dolgo match. From what I saw, Nadal didn't play very smart tennis against a very unpredictable Dolgo. He gave him a lot of short balls for a start and Doglo was all over those balls. And also, he let Dolgo play well inside the baseline a lot and that pretty much kept Nadal constantly on the run. He was taken out of his comfort zone a lot and for that reason, he wasn't allowed to do what he usually does - dictate the points with this forehand and put as much topspin as possible.

Dimitrov is surprising me these days.

I did not think he would be this further along in his development. he has improved his serve and his ground game. at the current rate we have to start considering him a top 10 material.

Rafa is just out of it at the moment. I saw a few of his pics on twitter. he looked distraught and dejected even before one of his practice sessions.

I hope he manages to get off the hard courts ASAP and go strengthen that back. he also has to get on clay asap.

that is the deal with a heavy topspin game. it requires constant work. you cant afford to miss a single day of practice.

nadal proved to the world that he can win on the hard courts last year but now its time to back off or else this back issue is going to end his career.
