Ah, need for weed? I had a really weird experience in Ljubljana related to weed. First of all, I would never do drugs, not even smoke pot because I'm too afraid of the side effects. Actually I'm so afraid of side effects that I don't even take prescribed medication unless I feel really bad.

The hostel owner in Ljubljana asked me to go out with him the night I was staying there. The first time he asked, I misunderstood him (he jokingly said that he was actually not allowed to leave the reception during his opening hours although he really wanted to join me for a walk and show me the city; I thought he really meant it so I went by myself) and the second time he wanted to invite me to have a coffee with him but I immediately had to charge my phone so I said no. The third time I agreed on having dinner with him. He showed me Ljubljana by night and took me to a Mexican restaurant. Later on he said that after the bad day he had had, he baaaaaaaadly wanted to smoke a joint. So we went to a neighborhood near an old warehouse which looked rather creepy at night. There was a bar playing psychedelic music and the young people were smoking all kind of funny things. He asked several people to sell him pot but no one had something to share with him because they were afraid that he was a cop or something. Secretly I was hoping that he wouldn't find anything because he was insisting on me smoking with him no matter how often I told him that I was against drugs, etc. In the end he got something anyway. We went to his place to smoke. I was still refusing to smoke with him so he smoked by himself and I was sitting next to him waiting for some dangerous side effects, holding on to my phone to dial the emergency number and lecturing him over and over again that he shouldn't do something like that to his body. I was completely frightened, close to tears, etc.

It was a rather weird night. I'm happy nothing bad happened but still... Hahaha.

The creepy neighborhood Metelkova:

Ahhhh, sorry for spamming but I'm too lazy to edit my posts:

Javi sent me a message on Facebook the other day replying to a message I sent him months ago with questions about a trip to Albania Well, he still hasn't replied to all of my questions about traveling in Albania but at least he sent me a sign of life.  8)

Hey guys! Sorry I have been way too busy. I am not following tennis that actively anymore like in the past, but of course I think about you guys and miss you.

I try to drop by more often but I can't promise you anything. You just have to take my word for it that I am doing important things and I will never forget you :) MTF has been devaluated so don't worry I am not posting there either. Everything was so good in the past, guess I am getting old...

Good morning, guys. I just got very busy with a few things this week - giving my bedroom a new look for one so I find myself shopping a bit. Also, taking care of a few other things while I can.

Also, this place became a bit of a funeral ground after Nadal lost to Nole (haha) quite predictably so didn't have much to contribute after that since most fans here are either Nadal or Federer fans.

Watching the DC doubles between GB and Italy. And just finished watching Kazakhstan beating Switzerland in the doubles. Brilliant win for them considering that it came against the likes of Federer and Wawrinka. Hopefully Kukushkin will be able to see the win vs Wawrinka tomorrow. They are 1 all at their H2H so there's some hope.

GB and Italy have gone to the 4th set but GB leads 2-1 in sets. Hopefully they'll take it here.

morning emma. nole is just too tough in the best of 3 sets formats on the hard courts. he has also been outworking them all and it shows.

congrats to nole and all his fans. I believe that was his 18th masters shield. the guy is an all time great. no question about it.

Nole is the best hard court player out there after all - regardless 3 or 5 sets. And it's also his best surface - just like clay is to Nadal. And he did not outwork Nadal. There were only a few long rallies. Nole kept things quite short and took it to Nadal. Nadal had to guess most times where Nole was going go next, so it didn't come to fitness at all but rather what kind of gameplan Nole brought on that day against Nadal. It definitely worked for Nole but it will be interesting to see if Nole will be able to execute it in the future in the same manner.

But if you didn't see the match then there's no point discussing, really. This meeting was nothing like their past meetings if anything.

Yes, that's quite an achievement for Nole to mark his place with 18 Masters shield but we can't forget that he had 2 walkovers and Nadal had 1 and in the semi-final at that. This era has produced a lot of mental midgets and that allows the the top players get away with a lot of things. They are better players of course but the main ingredient that really separates the two is the mental game. The lower ranked players don't go into any match with the attitude of actually winning it. Most times they are defeated even before the match. That's why we have to be very thankful to players like Nishikori, Dolgo, Gulbis, etc. since they don't care about the top players all that much and believe in their own abilities. Too unfortunate that they have to fight one too many good players to make the deeper rounds and often times they run out of juice. Hopefully great times are ahead for all these players and tennis in general.

Hello everyone!
I'm back, at least for some time because I'm going on a trip again on April 25. (Booking my train ticket out of the country was the first thing I did as soon as I got back home and had time to open my laptop... haha)

I'm really way behind with everything. Actually I'm sitting at the office now (my old office, YAAAAAY, because the intern is gone) and I still feel like my mind is somewhere else.

The last tennis-related thing I heard was Nole beating Rafa in Miami which is pretty recent news, actually.

Anyway, I did quite some travelling in the past few weeks. I was in Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia and the Netherlands. I met so many great people, did some soul-searching, finally had the talk with the guy I was obsessing about (we are still unsure about what we want from each other but thanks to some people I met along the way I have finally decided to go with the flow now...), saw many new places, re-visted old ones, even made some business contacts. I have also started getting back in shape again but REALLY back in shape. I have totally changed my eating habits. Not that I really have to lose some pounds but I would somehow be happy to have my six-pack back which I haven't seen in 10 years or so. Hahaha.

Anyway, I hope everyone is fine. I will stop by more often in the next few works especially from work. I don't want to spend too much time in front of the computer anymore at home and posting from my phone is really giving me a hard time.

Hola Nikki! Good to see you back, girl even though I know you are itching to go back out there again. And glad you got your old office back. :)

Sounds like you had a wonderful time traveling so many places and meeting all the new people. I am very happy for you! As to the guy, I take it only time will tell. Rather than ending it abruptly when you two still have feelings for each other or even starting it without sorting out some of the long term plans, it's probably best to leave it on time to take care of things. I am sure there's an answer that lies in the future.

As to your eating habit, isn't it hard to maintain it when you travel? I've always found it very hard. I prefer home cooked meal since I make those and I can keep track of what I am eating. And also, keeping the workout routine on the same level is pretty convenient when I am not traveling. So anyway, what is your new eating habit? Btw, I don't like six-pack on women! lol but I do love it on men.

Yes, we are fine and dandy, thanks. Note sure about the Nadal fans here though. As a Murray fan, I have learned to deal with losses quite easily than, say, Fedal fans. haha

The GB team broke Italy back in the 4th set but only to get broken right away. Italy will now serve for the 4th set. Too bad. This is a crucial match for GB because the next two single matches will be hard for them to win regardless who's in the team.

GB team breaks right back and now 6-5 in the 4th set.

Quite a roller coaster this set but potentially 1 game away from winning the match.

Andy and Flemming wins the doubles. Great effort by them in this set as the Italian team played really well but collapsed totally in the last game letting GB team to go 0-40 up immediately. Quite unfortunate for them but I am happy for Andy and Colin.

Thanks. It is good to be back for a while although I hate being at home during spring. My hay fever is bothering me a lot. Abroad I never have problems so I assume the plants which produce the pollen I'm allergic to only seem to grow in this climate.

Let's see if I can keep up the travels. As soon as I find a new job, I won't have that much time anymore.  :-[

I have pollen allergies too so I stay inside during Spring and it does not make me happy. I need to be in a place where the weather is not too extreme. When I was in Savannah, Georgia I never once fell sick but here in Toronto, I keep falling sick during winter. So in the long term I think I'd like to live either in Vancouver (permanently) or Florida (maybe just the winter time - 3 months tops - since Toronto is just heavenly during the summer). But it's also possible my immune system is down so it can't fight the cold and flu germs as much anymore, so I need to take care of that as well. I may need to change my eating habit too and do something different.

Maybe you should plan your trip accordingly so that you can avoid the pollen season entirely. It hasn't started here though even the Spring is officially here but I think we are almost there.

The creepy neighborhood Metelkova:

That was a very brave and yet, quite a foolish thing to do, Nikki. You are getting lucky each time but one time you may need to pay the price. As a good friend, I must tell you not to venture out like that with total strangers. You have no idea the things I've watched and the many times I've seen people getting into really serious trouble. A lot of them didn't even survive in the end. You need to be smarter than this. I needed to tell you this as a good friend so don't take this the wrong way. You can love people without any condition, without knowing them at all, yes, but you can never trust them.

And yes, I hate drugs too. They do far more harm than any good. Unless it's medically used for extreme cases I am against it. Although I'd like to drink Ayahuasca at some point but that's not a true drug as it's a combination of different plants and they brew it to make it a soup like thingy. I hear the experience is quite something. Also, I don't think it has any side affects. In any case, it will be a conscious decision as I'd like to think I am quite mature about things.

Oh and that neighborhood does look quite creepy. Can't believe you went there completely on your own with a total stranger!

Hola Javier. Turns out, you are more talked about here on my thread, at least recently, than me. In no world, that is fair, no? Shouldn't it always about me? Yes? Yes. ;D

Well, I am glad you've finally found your way to be here. Yes, we'd like you to see you here more often than not despite as busy as you sound.

I don't think MTF was ever 'so good' but that's just my point of view. And the reason you don't like MTF is not because you are getting old (yes you are haha) but because you are also maturing. Age does not always coincide with maturing, you know? Some folks are sometimes way too mature for their age and some are way too immature for their age. In fact, some people never mature or grow up at all. lolol but it's true. So take it as a good sign as you head to the right direction!

Anyway, a warm welcome back. We have missed you too, yes. Herc probably missed you the most. haha :)
