Tsonga bageled Fognini in the 3rd set. Good job there. Fognini needed to be put in place where he belongs. haha

Easy wins for Nadal and Federer over Seppi and Rosol.

Good job there by Raonic over Robredo there.

evening princess emma.

I have been out all day. I am just now returning home.

I had to go out of town today and was on the road most of the day.

time now to sip a very tall glass of red wine and check the board and the news and stuff.

that Buddha  statue is amazing. I just saved it. I intend to use it in my various images.

did you know he was a prince? his full name is Gautama Buddha.

Yes, of course. I grew up knowing a lot about Buddha as I found him the most fastening character in human history. Although I did not understand most of his teachings while I was a little girl but as I continued to study those together with my own personal experience, I've come to understand more and more of his teachings.

I also posted a beautiful documentary on his life and some of his teachings on a couple of other threads here under Emma's World. You probably have yet to browse those.

It's no wonder that hard courts have almost always been the most competitive field since inception. Even in this era, while both clay and grass still remain somewhat weak fields, hard surface on the other hand, remains the most competitive. We've seen both Nadal and Federer dominating clay and grass for a number of years now; whereas, all the wins by other players quite predictably have come on hard surface - be it Del Potro in 2009 USO or Nole at the AO multiple times or Andy at the USO and of late Wawrinka at the AO. Also the likes of Safin, Roddick, Hewitt had seen their success on hard courts first. It clearly shows, if anything, that hard surface is the most neutral ground for all the players.

Judging by Nole's results here so far, it seems to me he has created quite the intimidating factor for the rest of the players. I think Nadal has been the most intimidating player of this era but the tide may have just turned in Nole's favour. Though he's still somewhat vulnerable against Murray and to some lesser extent Federer, and perhaps even with Nadal, he still seems to be the player to beat. Though on clay, it's still Nadal since he doesn't lack any confidence on this surface regardless and Nole has yet to win RG, so Nadal is definitely the man to beat.

Sampras used to say, it's not about only beating your opponents, it's also about sending a message to them and Nole is sure sending a message right now as he goes 6-0, 3-1 up against Busta.

Busta finally holds a service game and marks his place on the scoreboard. He should get a cookie for this achievement.

Berdy's out to Garcia-Lopez. Makes sense given his perspective. If he sees Federer or Murray, suddenly he's out of slump and in peak form. But if he sees Nole or Nadal then he's like, 'okay, I am out. Thanks for watching.'. Stupid ****. haha but he deserves it.

Bercych - 'thanks for watching, folks. I am out of the tournament. Please continue to follow me on twitter where I will tweet 15 more times to show my utmost worshipping of Rafa and Nole. Thank you, muahh! Oh and God bless. '

Most people get the Buddha head you know? Like the one below? I think it makes a better showpiece, though for me, that's not the case. I literally kiss it every time I walk pass it by. Do you see other people doing it? Nope.

Dimitrov is out to Ferrer in straight sets. Very predictable outcome. Ferrer is a clay-courter first and foremost. I mean at this stage of Dimitrov's career (and Ferrer's), he should see a win over Ferrer basically everywhere and he'd see that too on hard and grass, but not on clay as it seems.

ferru is just a human backboard at times. he runs everything down.

he is also very fit so he can run for a day.

Oh that room is to die for. To be able to see that much ocean and hear it all day and all night is worth living this life.

Tsonga is actually not serving all that well while Federer's serves are saving him the day. It's a strange match.
