nadal is right back in business if he wins Barcelona and Rome masters. that will get him going again.
Just found out Stan won. Been busy since this morning so didn't get to see the match. Not surprised since 2014 Stan is so much better than 2009 Stan. So is it safe to throw Stan in the mix of those who are gunning for RG this year - namely Nadal and Nole? Well, Rafa and Noel won't meet each other until the final so whoever gets Stan on their side and if Stan is healthy, then that player is toast, folks. And of course there will be some trouble makers there as well.

I think he'll win those if Nole doesn't come back until RG. And Nadal is very rarely tired on clay no matter how long the season is. And very rarely injured too, in fact, never. Nole probably wants to stay fresh and wants to avoid playing Nadal until RG, if that happens. A lot can happen in between too. Stan has just opened the door too so who knows.

Very nice, herc darling. Thanks. Not sure about the black fonts though. Buddha was all about peace and love. Can we please see some love and peace in the font colours?
Saw some highlights involving the TB and the last set. Very authoritative performance from Stan especially towards the end of 2nd set when he was supposed to fold as usual. He definitely has taken that quantum leap on the mental department. In the 3rd, he stayed well inside the baseline and bossed Federer around. Gracious defeat by Federer at the net and subdued celebration from Stan after the win. He looked almost embarrassed for winning against Federer and didn't do much in celebration. I hope he enjoys it more though. He should know he deserves it all. I am very happy for him.
I did see the first few games of the 1st set this morning and to be honest I found it quite boring. Anyway, judging by stats, it doesn't look all that spectacular anyway apart from Stan finally winning it of course. Ton of errors by both and less winners.
herc, did Federer ever say about Nadal, "He's one-dimensional, he always plays the same way." I thought I saw it in someone's signature. As much as I am not a big fan Federer, I don't see him making such a direct comment about any player. I could be wrong though.
What's funny is that, I saw almost everyone picking Federer to win the match today and even in 2 sets. Stan once again proved everyone wrong. I am not sure though if Stan is capable of winning if everyone expects him to win. That's a very different kind of pressure.
I am out on the road Emma.
I will reply to your posts when I get home in a couple of hours.
federer was 13-1 against Stan going into this match.
so he was the favorite. he should have been able finish it in the breaker.
Federer may have been the favourite but that's not a permanent thing as you can see and that's one. Second, whoever hadn't considered Stan's form this year (which actually started last year) should stop watching tennis immediately. There's no place for that kind of blind prediction. Tards should be do away immediately,
Andy has posted these two pictures on his Twitter. Very cute.
