I would love to go to the USO, but the older I get the less I want to travel...anywhere. I often think that if I won an exotic trip I would trade it in for the cash money, just because I don't like the hustle and bustle of planning, traveling, hotel rooms, etc.

The only way I would go anywhere is to take my son so that he can experience it, but he is worse than me. I did do some traveling when I was younger and loved it, but now I'm too complacent. I get just as much joy as looking at the pictures from the comfort of my bed, which I know is not the same. Alas, I have gotten lazy and complacent. It's a shame, but I haven't been able to shake it. Odd, huh?

You should only do the things that make you really happy so don't worry about traveling all that much. It can be tiring too and if you are not feeling well, then it will make you tired just thinking about it. I remember one time I fell so sick that staying in bed made me the most happy and I used to wonder how people had so much energy to do all those things they were doing at that time.

But I do hope you make it to USO at least one time and see some of your favourite players since you really seem to love the idea of it. I really love USO. If both Sampras and Andy weren't so into Wimbledon, I probably would have picked USO first and then Wimbledon. I just love the atmosphere there. It's wild and really lively. I don't see it at Wimbledon. Wimbledon is bit quiet and reserved though when Andy won Wimbledon in 2013, it came alive. That was electric.

I believe that I will get there one day, it's just that my body is so worn out that the thought of going on a trip exhausts me. So, I do appreciate seeing the lovely pictures, because they remind me of bygone days. Still, regardless of my present circumstances I do think I will still get to enjoy all that life has to offer.

That is weird that Pete and Andy both excelled at Wimbledon. Wimbledon does his history of creating magic moments; Pete's win with the bulbs flashing, Rafa's win with darkness approaching, and Andy's win breaking the drought. I guess there is a lot to love about Wimbledon, I just don't like the organizers and the silly games that they play.

If I could only pick one major to go to, it would be Australia. It looks like a fun, raucous time. The people really get into it and it looks like it's all in the spirit of fun. I smile all the way through the AO whenever they show the people and the food. The other majors just don't have the personality to me, except the USO night matches, but it looks like a lot of drinking and rowdy behavior to me.

Oh I just read this  post. And there I was making assumptions you like USO the most! Haha. I do feel AO has become quite attractive over the years and the crowd seem to be on their best behaviour and tend to stay neutral most of the time. It's my 3rd preference and I am sure I will make it one day.

I agree about the night matches at the USO. I do think it gets quite rowdy at times. I'd be terrified to go there and attend one of the night matches alone. That's why I might just need Anikh to keep me safe. ;D

Ha ha ha. My sentiments exactly. Although it looks fun on TV, I think I would be a little fearful being in the midst of that crowd. I would never go there without "protection", LOL.

too bad madonna does not have Agnetha's voice.

but you are right. she is a copy cat.

Although Madonna too is/was quite successful in her days and is one of the best selling artists of all time, she doesn't have the voice or the beauty to be compared to Agnetha. Agnetha was flawless. She was tall and slender. Madonna I believe is only 5'3".

And the voice of Agnetha is a direct gift from God. She might just be the best vocalist of all time. I'd put Frida on the 2nd lead since I love her husky voice too.

Agnetha is born talented whereas Madonna had to work really hard for it. Two very different things, I do like Madonna though but I worship Agnetha. She's Goddess. ;D

I also like Debbie Harry quite a bit. Very beautiful and talented singer. I am typically  more into male singers but these three singers I simply adore because they are just that good.

Is she from ABBA? I vaguely remember their music, but do know how big they were at that time. I like Debbie Harry too. She was on What What Happens Live not too long ago, and she was such a delightful person. Very open, honest, and funny.

Funny insights on the singleness of Camelot. I am separated, not divorced yet. I've been married twice, both against my will, LOL, but the truth is, I prefer the single state and will never get married again. The reason is that I've been told that I think like a man. I don't need a lot of together time and prefer my mate have his own interests. I don't like to babysit or be babysat. There is a freedom to being single that appeals to me. When in a relationship I find myself secretly resenting the 24/365 process, it's such a drag.

I am very much like you in this regard. See, we have a fascinating thing in common. In any case, we will consider you a single. ;D

I know you think like a man, which is why it's easy for me to relate to you. You don't accept societal norms so much, and instead choose your own path. It's funny though in real life, the reactions you get, especially when you look feminine and appear to be a certain type of girl. Then when men realize that you're more than a girl, you're a woman, they seem confused and not sure how to deal with you.

Do you get that type of reaction from the masculine sex? I do. They always say, "you're so different" with a perplexed look. It's like, "I like it, I think." ROFL!

Beerdych was taken out by Pospisol. I wasn't expecting that. I guess now I'll be rooting for Raonic or Monaco. Raonic has improved tremendously. This is one of the first times I recall him not panicking in the big moments. But, Monaco, I just like.

Berdy is just not himself this year.

i say double the practice time. that usually eliminates most of the issues.

milos is starting to impress.

Thanks for the support of Andy Clay. Yes ive missed him really competing at the deep end of big tournaments. Form is temporary and class is permanent but he has had to be very patient with himself since returning from back surgery.

He isn't, is he? It's almost like every time he gets an opening (Rafa being injured and he can beat Federer and Djokovic if he has to, I'm not sure about Andy), he retreats. His words say one thing; his actions, another.

Wow Emma, you never cease to amaze me with your postings. Yes, I have been a fan of Murray's since he came on the scene. There is an openness and honesty that he brings to the table. With Andy, there is no smoke and fire. He's comfortable with himself, and that's a very admirable trait. I think he's smart, funny, and personable; someone I'd like to be friends with. And his on court genius never ceases to amaze me. I simply love the way Andy plays the game.

Andy, I don't worry about, because he's such a reflective person, and I know that no matter what happens, he'll be able to take it in stride. He's already accomplished one of the most important deeds of the century, breaking that 70 year drought, but I also expected him to let it soak in, rather than immediately seeking more glory. I do think he wanted to do very well at RG this year, but that was not for the sole purpose of winning it, but to ensure that it would not be a future blot or obstacle in his career. He may appear laid back, but inside beats the heart of a champion, it's just not an in your face type of champion and many people struggle to see the difference. Andy just approaches the game on an intellectual level, and for those who do so, the journey is different.

I had to laugh at your favorite players to follow, because I also followed those three. I received a lot of flack about Lleyton and my support of him throughout his career, but of course I didn't care. Lleyton's belief in himself was a huge draw for me. For him to be among giants, due to his small stature, and achieve the things he did is nothing short of remarkable. His ability to step out of the limelight and give credit to those who came after him is also remarkable. Like you, I don't care who the current "next big thing" is, I like who I like based on the traits they possess and the benefit it is to me.

I don't have to say anything about Pete. You already know how I feel about him. Pure class.

Yes, Andy's very clear on that. There's not much controversies around him although British media do try their best to stir things up at times and speculate too much about nothing, but those rumours tend to fade away on their own since they don't hold much water to begin with.

I highly agree with you on the 2nd bolded part. Andy does approach the game quite intelligently - something that most fans don't actually understand. You know, if meteoroids or any other forms of debris hit the earth, we'd be the first ones to go because we are such fragile beings. And yet, we are the ones who have survived the longest on the planet. And not only that, we have supreme control over all other species on this earth. We know how to protect ourselves and prosper. So what has made us survive all these years despite our physical limitation with essentially no weapons to fight off anything including the weather.

So clearly it's our intelligence first and foremost that has helped us thus far. So it's never the survival of the fittest but always the survival of the smartest or wisest. Tennis itself is a very intelligent game; in fact, perhaps the most intelligent physical game of all. When Philosophers, Spiritual Leaders, even Scientists speak of any sport to show it as an example, they speak of tennis. The other non-physical game they refer to is chess (goes without saying). If tennis was played on the intellectual level then Andy would have always Aced it, but it doesn't play on that highly intellectual level as a lot of the players rely on the power these days rather than on the skills and executing those skills. And today's fans dig that because they like it fast and destructive otherwise they get bored. The thing with Andy is, he refuses to play aggressively because he finds it one dimensional an dumb, so he keeps on playing using his brain more. Amelie used to be a very good intelligent player though mentally she wasn't very strong but she played smart tennis. Those were the years though, alas. But you can see why Andy has hired her as a coach.

Good to know you are a Lleyton fan too. :) People have only warmed up to him now but back then, he was the least popular player. But these guys - both Hewitt and Safin - knocked Sampras off from the USO finals to their credit back then and now, just take a look at today's young generation. They are now in their early to almost mid-20s and still struggling to make past the qtr finals of any Slam. The mental aspect of things in players have stopped since 2003. We have not seen any breakthrough by any youngsters since then with the exception of Nadal. Speaks a great volume about this past and current era.

We had seen breakthroughs by Michael Change at 17, Becker at 17, Sampras at 19 and quite a few others from the mid 80s to early 00s and that happened when tennis still had loads of variety, which itself was so much more challenging. We don't see that trend anymore.  It's just not the same anymore. I now very rarely watch WTA because the one dimensional game bores me to death. Where's Steffi, Monica, Lindsey, Hingis, Pierce, Henin, Mauresmo, Clisjters etc. and so many other great players with their different styles and contrasts? Those were the days. Today's female players just strike me as clones - robots if you will. Too physical for my taste. Men aren't far behind either. If it wasn't for Andy, I would have stopped watching tennis a long time ago.

I am very feminine looking as well. So at first the guys treat me just the way they treat all other women. It takes them a while to get who I really am and often times, they don't make it that far. But it's also true that I don't go all gung ho on them initially. I have the tendency to unfold slowly (in person) and I will unfold a lot if I am genuinely interested in them but often times, I am not so I don't bother. So I don't think there's anyone out there who knows even a slice of me. lol

But there were incidents where some people did say straight to my face that I might just be from another planet or another time or another dimension or something to that effect - mainly because they could not figure me out at all. I've always taken those as compliments. I never expect them to get me anyway. :)

I am glad you are different too in your own unique way. You've made a difference for yourself. :)

Yes, she is from ABBA and represents the first letter of ABBA. She's my favourite singer of all time. Debbie I will put third since I put the other ABBA member Anni-Frid as my 2nd all time favourite singer. I am really not the Whitney Houston or Celine Dion or Mariah Carey type. I prefer Duffy or Amy Winehouse much more. Not at all into Adel or Britney or Katie Perry or Beyonce etc. etc.

I mainly follow rock singers and they are mostly male. Music is my first love. Can't live without it!

Emma is very pleased. Mind you, the duty doesn't only stop there with the manly protection. It may extend to get me a bottle of water or perhaps get me a sandwich in case I am hungry. Or better yet, I may ask you to slap a Federer fan silly if they are going overboard with their cheering right next to us.
