I remember someone opening a thread under my name at T4U and a lot of the posters ended up posting a lot of the products under that name. It was flattering and hilarious at the same time. I like the outlook of that forum. You can definitely have a banner across the top of the board (rather than that big picture) but don't go overboard with it. Keep in mind, not everyone's going to dig the sword, blood etc. or even the castle stuff. I specifically don't see the female bunch being too interested in it. So perhaps something more neutral or else you will be attracting only a specific genre.

It will appealing if you keep it contemporary.

affirmative. we will keep it simple and elegant but I have yet to figure out how to get an image across the board rather than that one image on the side.

on another note, I came across a forum for runners the other day. I think they are raking it in with advertising revenues.

we can do the same thing but these are the steps involved:

first of all we have to get bigger which will happen in 3 years or so. that is also enough time to become better known around the cyber world of tennis.

only way to get bigger is get more traffic which will start happening sooner or later. once there is relatively decent size traffic, we will start to see a few registrations/new members.

and then hopefully we will get rolling a little bit.

people just like madness, drama, noise, controversy, and confrontations which happen at larger forums. they find to tough to leave all that drama.

so we just have to be cool, calm, collective, and patient. good things will happen for us sooner or later.

belief and positive thinking will pay off for us. all we need is about 3 years to make it work.

anyway I will see if I can find that forum for runners. just check the advertising on it. it is insane.

Yea, that's terrible. Defeats the purpose altogether. I guess you will need to have a very specific idea as to what you want. For me, it's a pure relaxing place where I can talk about anything without the boundaries. It's also pretentious free. And not much bullying or abusing going on unlike the Murray forum or even Tennis4u. I believe they all matter.

You need someone to set this forum up to your likings once you decide how you truly want this place to work and decide on the look as well. Perhaps a friend can help you out. I am not a techi person, unfortunately. It will be hard to find a person who's more into selfless deeds. That involves all of us.

exactly. it looks like hell and they are insulting the hell out of each other.

what a miserable forum and still they have all that advertising.

so in order to convince the corporate world to advertise at Camelot, we need about 3 years.

this is why I think we can make money with this doing it exactly our way.

we own this place. we are the owners emma. you are one of the owners.
all admin members are owners. I think that is the best way. all admin have equal voice. its their own place so they have a stake in it.

and together we will find a way to make it work. it will be the best of all worlds as far as having a little place to chit chat a little bit about tennis goes. a cool place to relax and talk some tennis and stuff and also a place that can make us some party money. nothing wrong with that.

I can easily see or envision a nice income. just look at that rinky dink forum for the runners.

we can think of our free party money as a bit of an incentive to make sure this becomes a cool place one day.

and why the hell not. this is Camelot and we can dream all we want here.

lot of things in life start with a simple dream.

You need someone to set this forum up to your likings once you decide how you truly want this place to work and decide on the look as well. Perhaps a friend can help you out. We can definitely learn on our own. And also put more thoughts into it. I don't think this forum should be specifically design for tennis but tennis is our passion so that just happens to be a big part of it.

I agree completely.

tennis brings us all together and it is our foundation but we will look for a unique and more original approach.

we have to have our own special significant competency that uniquely ours.

for instance, people can have their very own forums/boards here to do whatever they please. there they can pursue any ideas they wish to pursue. they will be given instant mod status of their own boards. no questions asked.

and those boards can consist of any idea/theme or any other sport. it can be their very own chat/talk place.

we will all try to support each other the best we can with time permitting.

emma let me ask you something:

look at the top left of your page where is says "Home". its a little yellow symbol with a picture of a home in it.

do you see 2 plus signs below it?

directly under the home button there should be "Camelot elite tennis society"

and those 2 plus signs --side by side-- should be directly under "Camelot elite tennis society"

if you see those 2 signs, click on each of them so they become negative.

once they are both negative, you will start to see a column on the right and a column on the left. the one on the right will display "recent topics" and recent posts.

the one on the left will just give you some stats on members.
