Andy's serves are a big liability in his game and one of the two main reasons of his downfall. It's not just the 1st or the 2nd. It's both. If one works then the other falls apart and vice versa. The two are almost never consistent with each other. I am still not sure why Andy would hire AM when his main problems are his serves and a weak mentality. Surely you don't need to master the variety department anymore? Why work on something that is already a great strength for you and works either way? I mean what kind of dumb decision is that?

He's got two very basic problems - one, his mentally is weak therefore has no control over his emotion therefore lacks confidence. Second, his serves are inconsistent and weak. Had Lendl not showed up I doubt he would have won any Slam let alone the Olympics or Wimbledon. He mustn't forget.

It just seems to me he hired AM just to show off that he's so into women coaches and that he ranks women high or at least for his own amusement. And that's fine but this only works when you already mentally strong and have a great sets of skills including the serves. You can't afford such luxury and cause a commotion by hiring a female coach when you have such big wholes in your game. Be realistic Andy, the last thing you need is someone who's even weaker than you mentally and not known for his or her serves.

I am going to put my support of Andy on hold until I see some  serious changes in his attitude and decisions. I have no reason to waste my time on him anymore. It's one thing when you give your 100% (like Hewitt or Ferrer) and still lose but it's quite another when you deliberately make bad choices and then suffer. It's utterly dumb. Not funny at all. Man up, Andy. You are not getting any younger.

I guess she is either too shy or too busy or both.

Or could just be something else. Let her just be, herc. We can never force anyone to post here. People are free to come and go as they feel.

I think he'll do it. He has lost to him lately, but Andy is rounding into form. His recovery was slow but steady. The win over Cilic, as straightforward as it was is bound to give him confidence.

I didn't think Rafa would get to the final by any means. I think the first match was just the adrenaline flowing, but it takes time to get your timing back and know what shot to hit in the right moment. Plus, Rafa had 37 errors which is a lot for him. Still, I thought he looked relatively good considering he's just coming back, and the little fish in the sea always have to have their time in the sun too.

While I feel it was a terrific win over Cilic by Andy, I truly feel it was also the match that did the damage against Nole. I'd have rather liked Andy to get the win over Nole than the recent USO Champion. After all, Nole is very well known for his consistency not to mention the No. 1 player.

As to Rafa, I saw the match. Klizan was a tad more aggressive especially at crucial points and Nadal had trouble chasing those. Klizan is a solid player and believes in himself while Nadal I feel is still a bit slow upon return and as herc said, fitness might still be an issue as he wasn't quick enough around the court as he typically is. He's growing older after all so quickness is the first thing that I believe that goes first albeit not all at once.

And those 37 errors are very telling of Rafa's confidence. He's a player of confidence first and foremost we all know. Each time he makes an error his confidence goes down a bit and he made 37 of them - very unusual for a player who tends to keep the errors to the minimum, because of the focus being on the balance of confidence/error ratio primarily. Plus the match was just too long for him and Klizan wasn't giving up at all and kept on pounding the ball. I believe it was almost 3 hour long match. But it was also a very good match. I thoroughly enjoyed it because of its high quality. Win or loss - you can't take that away from that match.

Me too, but Andy is looking different on court. I can't put my finger on it.

Do you mean it in the positive sense? I guess he's trying but he's focusing on the wrong things. Losing to Ferrer, who's on his way out, means your game is nowhere near you think it is. Andy needs to take a realistic look at this loss first. Of course the right thing to do is to continue to play but the ideal thing would be to make the right decisions and see what's really causing these losses and what changes must be done in order to take care of these problems.

i saw rafa's 2nd round match. i cant really say that i am happy with him.

i can understand the injury but i dont know why he is not putting in the time on his fitness. he was slow and sluggish even by his own admission.

he says it a little differently but i know what he means. he said he could be better with the legs and stuff.

also it was the left hand injured. he could have worked more on his serve and also the net game. these are fast courts and he was again terrified of the net.

i am worried about him: i am afraid the incredible fame and fortune has taken away some of his attention away from the sport.

simply put, he has dropped his level of play and his fitness quite significantly from last year.

i am just worried sick to my stomach about him. i keep seeing a drop in fitness.

at any rate hopefully he will get it back together for 2015 and give it a good go.

That's a bit too dramatic, herc darling. Surely Rafa's 14 Majors and a number of single titles beg the question, no? But I feel both Federer and Nadal fans are quite spoiled and a bit too ambitious for my taste.

I am quite happy with Andy's 2 Slam titles. Of course a few more would be quite deserved as well but I wouldn't be devastated if he weren't to win any more. I am not sure how you guys would have dealt with Nadal if he were to go 15 months without a title and being ranked 11.

It just somehow comes down to all about glory and who gets to keep the bragging right in the end - Rafa fans or Federer fans - unfortunately.

Some Rafa fans, not all. I am happy for Rafa's 14 as it is way more than was ever predicted for him. If he quit tomorrow he will have satisfied me as a tennis fan. I care more about Rafa's health than glory. With good health he can continue to bring the competitive element to the sport that I love, without his health, all is folly.

I was very fine with Sampras' 12/13 Slams. I could see that he was mentally jaded and didn't feel like competing anymore. I wanted him to retire after 2000. In fact, I was begging him to retire. Anyway, it's been really a while I've browsed other forums (TF, TW, MTF etc.) but from what I remember and all that I remember is the constant fight between Nadal and Federer fans and it's almost always about who's greater in a roundabout way. It's not always so obvious but we all know what's it all about in the end. You don't even have to even go into any thread - the thread name itself is too obvious. I don't think you fall into that category (not all by any means of course) but judging by my observation over the years and dealing with these fans, I can safely say that most of these fans are primarily fighting for the bragging rights. It's no wonder that these two (Federer and Nadal) have the most fans. If, for example, you take half of their achievements away, then you lose half the fans and half the arguments/debates that go on in those forums. The reason why neither Andy nor Nole has as many fans or even hated by fans is because they don't have the results to brag about. In fact, as a Murray fan, if you say something anything, some Federer or Nadal fan would remind you not to mention their names in the same sentence as Fedal. In fact, look no further than their signatures. It's almost always about bragging.

I was just listening to that song called "dancing queen". I am not sure if the title is right for that song.

I heard it on the radio the other day. every single song I hear by Abba blows me away.

She had such a magical voice.

anyway here is that song:

herc darling, Dancing Queen is ABBA's most popular song and one of the greatest songs (top 10) of all time. It hit the No. 1 in most countries upon release including US. The reason why I mention US is because US snubbed Abba when they were taking the world by storm in the 70s. The main reason being is that, the Americans very rarely like (or even familiar with) any music outside their country (the only exception they make is in case of Uk but only because they have to) and ABBA themselves weren't too keen on US as a result; therefore, they never wanted to tour US because they weren't into appearing in silly TV shows in the States. They preferred Canada much better and Canada was much more receptive. In any case, ABBA outsold everyone outside US - be it UK (9 No. 1 hits in UK alone and 22 No. 1 hits worldwide) or Australia or Japan or most of Europe, Asia and South America or let's say rest of the world. There's a reason why the Hollywood movie Mamma Mia became the biggest selling musical film in history of musical films is precisely that - people all around the world is very familiar with ABBA's music while Amerian fans are just discovering it. It made $602,500,560 worldwide and sitting inside top 100 of all time box office hits. As I mentioned before, Madonna made millions by taking a sample of Abba's Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie! Madonna is your Agnetha wannabe. Anyway, Abba is a money pit (all those who made covers of Abba songs made a ton of money as well not to mention the movie and the stage versions of it all round the globe) and it's only because they were a super group (and not just some Europop) and the 2nd biggest band in history (after Beatles). And rest assured, had Americans embraced ABBA the way rest of the World did, they would have been the No. 1 band of all time. In the long run, they are bound to outsell both Beatles and Elvis Presley no matter how much any one country snubs them. They are universally loved and adored. And ABBA is not just a pop group or disco group. Only ignorant people who have not listened to all their songs would make comments like those. Apparently, 'cool' people don't like Abba and when they say they are 'cool' you should know that you are anything but 'cool'. When something needs defining then you should automatically know that you don't have it. You are not cool. You are just an ignorant being.

Anyway, here's an instrumental number from ABBA that I feel you will like it. This is however a cover. Just showing how far their popularity has gone.

Here's the original by ABBA

Question: who do you think Judy is referring as the better looking one?

I know for a fact that Andy is anything but tidy.

As to polite - Andy seems awfully polite offcourt but then again Jaime has very rarely shown any oncourt tantrum - don't know him personally but why should he be any different but I wouldn't know. This one is tricky.

Judy is a shameless creature and yet, she's funny and adorable, don't you think? Andy's got her spirit but I can see him frowning at this though.

I like Judy a lot but I cant even get her to follow me on twitter, let alone join us here at Camelot once in a while.

I think you might be able to make an impression on her. you may have to ask her to join Camelot just for kicks.

I mean we know she is very busy but joining Camelot takes 3 seconds.

and making a post takes 3-5 seconds.
