i hear ya.

what about Edberg and Michael Stich? were they good on clay? did they win any clay events at all that you can recall from the top of your head?

i know becker once took Muster to 5 sets at Monte Carlo but he failed to win a single clay event during his tenure at ATP.

Edberg and Stich had similar results as Sampras but they both made RG final one time - Edberg in 1989 and Stich in 1996, the same year Pete made the semi at RG. Stich's path was easier than Sampras but he did beat Muster to his credit who was the defending champion.

Like Sampras, Edberg too won Rome while Stich won some typical clay tournaments like Stuttgart, Munich etc.

I think all of the above were more or less same on clay though I don't know if both Edberg and Stich made consecutive qtr finals at RG. Pete made 3 out of 4 times and the year after, he made the semi. Of course, by his standard, that's nothing. For these players, it was hard to adjust the surface all year long given that some of them played really fast especially all the indoors (USO was quite fast too and so was grass) on carpet, some of them played medium fast and then some of them played really slow like the clay. So they constantly had to adjust different surfaces all year long. It's much better nowadays. The Spanish players didn't like it at all as they kept on complaining about the fast surface and wanted to boycott Wimbledon one year. They even said grass was for cows. So they had to change everything anyway to fulfill the demands of these players. All the past champions were fine however and didn't complain about the slow surface, as in clay, all that much and were more or less fine with it.

I do recall Stich taking down Muster in 1996. Muster should have been able to defend his crown at least once.

I guess Stich was just too good on that day. he was about 6 foot 4 and he had massive firepower. off the ground and off his serve.

Edberg was talented enough to win RG but evidently it was just not meant to be.

Yes, I love it, herc. You didn't ask who it is.

And yes, the middle one is an Indian actress - the one in the blue print shirt.

I have to go now. Got a headache for some reason. Goodnight and thanks for everything.

i keep looking at her but i also realize now that i do know who she is. i just cant place her name.

she is beautiful beyond belief.

Who is beautiful beyond belief? The one in the blue shirt whose name you forgot or the latest addition?

I felt naughty at some point and thought about having one of my pictures in there and if asked, then say 'oh it's some actress from 1920s' and toy with you guys for a while, but then felt sorry for you guys. What do you think? Pretty good, huh? :p

Okay. I see Borg Law was here but no post? Maybe we should have a section for punishment? We will punish the posters by making them stand in the corner for a while. What do you think?

Yes, she is very beautiful and the only one still alive in that signature. The last one, though I agree that she resembles a bit Natalie Wood but she's not her. I like Natalie too and she too died fairly young. She was apparently drowned or they say, was pushed from the boat she was, and then drowned. Quite tragic.

Maybe I will keep the last one as a mystery and no, she's not Rita Wilson at all. I wouldn't have Rita in my signature!

Who wants to see naked pictures of Andy? Okay, maybe not full naked but it's at least half naked I promise you.

Look, he's bending over all the way to tie his shoe laces and that means his back is getting better and better, no?

I bought this rickshaw for Baron. it is for his personal use at Camelot.

skyrocketing gasoline prices dictate such a change how our valued guests and members travel around Camelot.

so a rickshaw for the Baron and bicycles for the rest of us:

we sold the Camelot private jet to build another bar and to buy more liquor for the holidays.

herc, I thought this was so cool and funny as hell, but how come he's getting a rickshaw and I am getting a bicycle? Why is he special and I am not?

Anyway, loved that joke and then I remembered that you used to have a very cool sense of humour that made me giggle a lot of the time, mostly at Tennis4U of course. what happened to that wonderful sense of humour of yours? Since when did you get so serious?
