dimitrov has done it.

milos got a tiny bit tight in the breaker and it cost him.

dimitrov had around 45 winners and just 11-12 errors. just an amazing performance from dimtirov.

congrats to him and his fans.

See, this is something I don't get. Milos is the better server so by rule he should be very happy to force a TB, because it always favours the bigger server but not so much in this case. As much as he likes Sampras, he definitely doesn't have the mentality Sampras had. I mean by this time at this age, Sampras the King of tennis was already smoking the competition and against multiple Slammers. Ho hum ;D

You have a thing for the Spaniards no doubt. I have seen it with most Nadal fans. Because they like Rafa, they tend to like all the other Spaniards (there are some Murray fans who are just like that - they like Rafa so they like all the other Spaniards). On the surface, there's nothing wrong with it but the logic just fails me. I mean I like Murray but doesn't mean I am going to like all the other British players. Same goes with Sampras. In fact, I was never a fan of Agassi and sometimes, he'd turn me off big time. Was never a fan of Roddick either because I didn't enjoy his game but loved his work ethic and how serious he was about his game.

But in general, I like all my fellow Canadians, Americans, Spaniards, Indians, British people - you name it, I like'em all. I hate putting one country above others. There's a certain bias to it that I dislike a great deal. I guess what I am pointing out is that, the game should come on top than the nationality since this is strictly an individual game. The primary reason for me to like Murray is the fact that, I like his game and the versatility of it. Secondary for me is the person he is and he's a wonderful human being.

Actually it's the same with Federer fans too. They all like Wawrinka because, like Federer, he's also Swiss. lol well, anyway.

lady TT we have the coolest place.

we know more kind hearted folks will come this way if we stay the course and just keep doing our thing here.

what is so cool is that everybody has their own place which makes it extra relaxing and extra cool.

now people can just create, invent, and add content and just be themselves. there is so much that they probably want to share with the world.

their work and their posts will be safe here forever.

and best of all, ALL of Camelot is truly at their disposal. they can go anywhere here and do anything.

My comments last night re: controversial threads have given me an idea. How about we open a section and name it Hot Topics and put all the hot topics in there? For example, News Thread or Current Events? Sex Thread. Men vs Women. 48 Hours (lololol) etc.

Oh Feli, Feli, Feli,

You cut your hair in vain.

(Referencing his comments that he cut his hair for his match with Murray as a way of doing something different.

Feli has so many talents, but after all these years still doesn't know how to use them.

I'm still behind, but was hoping (I'll see in a minute) Raonic could take it. Didn't like the way Dmitrov was acting after winning his second set. Mr. Sharapova.

I feel for Feli too because I think he's got a great game - the best game from the current Spaniards bunch including Rafa, but alas, neither does he know how to be consistent and execute his game, nor does he have the mentality that of a Champion, say, Rafa. That separates the two big time.

As to Dimitrov's act after winning the 2nd set vs Raonic, I too noticed it but not just here. He's been doing that since the start of the tournament and I must be honest, it has turned me a bit off. I feel he's celebrating a bit much all of a sudden and in the way Sharapova does, so she seems like the one who's influencing all this sudden change of behaviour in Dimitrov.

I was actually feeling very uncomfortable at Tennis Frontier when the likes of Sid, Nekro complained that their posts got deleted as I too was experiencing something similar via PM. First I was told to delete one of my posts by KsKat via PM and apologize because they found it offensive. Second time, I was told to delete one of Andy's pictures on our Castle thread because it was costing them money. This I was told again by Kskat (I really forgot her name) but she told me the instruction came directly from baron. Then Tented kept telling us to keep things down and then of course some of our posts got delete at the Castle anyway. Since I had never experienced anything like this before let along told and in such a short time of my stay, I lost interest right away. Besides, if you don't have to be there then you don't want to be there.

I like both baron and Tented (tented especially) and I like Kieran very much and I feel they have a few great posters, but I felt stifled by all this. I just try my best not to get attached to anything and that includes real life as well, because once you do, you are stuck with that forever even when it becomes miserable and stressful for you. I find the whole notion very unhealthy.

I am actually a little worried about Milos.

I keep seeing him fold in the clutch.

he is also reckless with his returns at times. and at exactly the wrong time too.

As to Andy's match last night, I thought he played well enough to beat Feli. He was into the match from the start. His baseline game has improved but it needs to improve much more and hopefully he'll get there just in time. The serves need to be a bit more consistent but his 2nd serves were good and first serve % was good enough to win the match.

6 Aces by Andy and 8 Aces by Feli but Andy had 2 DFs while Feli had 7. 29 winners by Andy and 31 by Feli (understood as he likes to go for it while Andy's more careful) and 30 UEs by Andy while 44 by Feli. Again, if you are going to play that high risk game, it's going to cause you that many errors if you are not consistent.

Very good match by Andy all in all.

He'll improve because he has it in him. He's just not all serve as he's always trying to improve. I felt for him last night and hopefully this match will give him much to think about and desire more. Sometimes you badly need it.

it is great to see Andy back out there doing his thing.

any thoughts on his draw?

I personally wish he he had been placed in the other 1/2.

His draw is relatively easy until the QTR but then it gets essentially tougher for him (Tsonga/Federer, possibly Nadal and then Nole) and given that these are also the biggest matches in the tournament, it is justified to have a bit easier rounds early on. Also, we still don't know what kind of form he is in until he faces a worthy opponent and if he will be able to play all the way to the final set, if things get pushed that far. So there's a lot still unknown. He still touches his back from time to time but perhaps more out of habit but also, probably wants to make sure his back is doing okay so far.

Federer's draw is the toughest one at this point without a doubt. The draws tend to change a lot as they go through different rounds so I don't feel it's ideal to make too much  fuss about draws being tough for one particular player or the other. Anyway, Federer's draw is tough from the 4th round with Tsogna, probably Murray and Nadal and perhaps Nole in the final. It can't get tougher than this. But because Federer has too many titles behind him and because he's had his fair shares of nice draws and schedules, I feel it's okay to have tough draws once in a while. And besides, he's kind of sliding down performance wise so the draws aren't going to be easy for him anyway, with one too many players having the ability to beat him even on a good day.

I don't want to say anything as to who I'd like as Andy's opponent in the qtr as Tsonga is in form right now and Federer too is looking sharp in this tournament.

herc, Andy was in Nole's half in 2012 and Andy did take him to the 5th set. It was a marathon match if you remember but Nole still went and beat both Andy and Nadal right here at AO. So what you wish is not necessarily a sure thing if you know what I mean.

I just read some comments made at Tennis Frontier where this poster said that he doesn't want to see a Murray/Djokovic final (hoping for a Murray loss) because he finds the match up ugly. How can anyone make such blanket comment is beyond me. Are they tennis fans at all? Or fans with selective memories since their hatred for certain players surpasses the game of tennis?

Andy and Nole have a lot of great matches. For example, the 2012 AO semi I just mentioned. You have the Rome semi on clay, Shanghai final in 2012 and their encounter in Miami or the Olympic one just recently. And also, some of their early meetings. Can these fans be anymore selective? What is even more ironic is that, these are the very fans who are big on Federer/Nadal rivalry, where 90% of the time the outcome is predictable. And the game itself is predictable where Nadal plays 90% of the time to Federer's backhand and Federer in return, finds it very difficult too deal with Nadal's topspin. Can you predict the outcome of a Nole/Andy match? Most times, no. Fans of some of these players, really.

I can't honestly care for negative posters. Most of the time they fail to bring anything constructive to the table let alone be objective about it. Most times they are biased and driven by hatred. What a waste of time when you intend to read posts and you find yourself reading only garbage. It's very hard to find good, objective and fair posts these days no matter where you go and what you read.

I only saw the breaker between dimitrov and milos.

milos had his chances to snatch that breaker. he simply got a little tight.

good win for dimitrov as he is in the last 16 at a major for the first time ever.

so he is making a little history for himself and for his country.

Yeah, I am happy for him, after the fact. It's nice to see him get through over Raonic who has more experience in the big moments.

It was just watching his celebration after the second set, I believe, reminded me of Novak and I was thinking, "oh no, not again."
