Men's singles draw:
lets get this party started.
the word on the street is that Federer is playing here.
I hear he is also playing at RG.
Rome Men's singles draw in post #1

One interesting thing... Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray, OBE are in the same quarter.
Nadal hasn't played Murray since he lost to him at Tokyo 2011, which means Nadal never had to play the Lendl coached Murray. And now that window has closed. At any rate, the way Andy has been playing this year, the chances they meet don't look so good.
Some people, are saying Andy should pull the plug on the clay season, and just start preparing on grass. I'm not in that camp. I still think Murray needs matches, unless he is physically hurting. His mind might need sorting out, but I'm not sure more time off is the answer.

I agree general masterclass:
Andy needs match play and practice on clay to get his ground game going. he will need it at Wimbledon.
thanks for posting the draw for rome masters general.

I agree. Clay is only a few more weeks anyway, and then the abbreviated grass season. Andy needs to keep playing on the clay for point construction and stamina. Going away and practicing only will not put him in good stead for the rigors of dealing with stress and apprehension during matches.
Happy for Grigor but Karlovic in the next round is not going to be easy.
Rafa against Simon in R2. Simon has been playing horribly all year but won easily against Volandri today. Hoping for a showing by Rafa similar to the matches against Berdych and Nieminen in Madrid.
rafa needs to hit a lot of balls since he is lazy during his lame practice sessions.
so simon will be good. he will force nadal to hit plenty of balls.
