Been on a long journey
Many ups and then downs
Due to crossing the path
Of life's monsters and clowns
A road I just now realized
I think from that past strife
That I often drop tumble weeds
Into my own daily life
By choosing to worry
About all the what ifs
Just like choosing to fall
Off ten daily mental cliffs
Time to stop painting pictures
For Scaredy-Cat Jane
Instead dance on the mountain
Be it sunshine or rain

I have been unable to become
Always in control with age
Especially when it comes to
The things I cannot seem to cage
I have way too much emotion
I have let build inside my heart
Never allowed to release it
So now I sometimes come apart
When I come upon injustice
I cannot silently stand by
It's like a volcanic explosion
And I'll tell you the reason why
I've been bullied and betrayed
Without the power to make it end
So now I have this passionate need
For myself and others to transcend
