big test for Pops--the rising Canadian star---tomorrow.
at least he can get a measure of his progress anyway. this is a tough assignment for him.
I watched Grigor against Fed today. Grigor was shaky and he did not use his opportunities in the second set. At 5:3 in the second Grigor had 0:40 on Fed's serve. That's 3 set points. On one of them his backhand hit the bottom of the net!
Anyway, the year so far has been excellent for Grigor. I am excited to see where he goes from here - will he be able to take his game to the next level and enter Top 10 or will he be another Fognini/Granollers/Nieminen.
grigor has some potential. he is a tall chap with some weapons.
he should be able to move up the ladder. he is young enough so he has time.
this was a good learning experience for him. he had to be a little intimidated today.
he most assuredly had his chances to push the battle to the final frame.
it is looking like a roger vs del potro final. del potro is on fire right now.
and one of the reasons he is doing so well is because he has been working hard on his serve. now he has made it into a big time weapon.
he has a great return to go along with that big serve so he has become a big threat on quicker surfaces.
that is what makes nole so great also: he has the big serve and he has a even bigger return. and then he cleans it all up with his ruthless movement and his ground game.
contrast that with nadal`s game. nadal has to get it all done with his ground game, his will, and his wheels.
we will continue to work on this place general Tee.
we have to put lady emma`s suggestions into effect this weekend.
this is all part of the learning process. sooner or later we will get it right and give this place just the ideal look that we envision.
very interesting draw for paris masters:
http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2013/352/mds.pdfI have been looking for a heavyweight battle between nole and roger on indoor hard courts. we might get it here in paris.
only question is this: how hard will roger try in paris if he locks up his spot for WTF with a title in Basel?
morning sports fans.
let the good times roll.
del potro:
3 finals in 3 weeks.
roger is well on his way to the final.
he snatched the first set.
Pospisil reminds of Berdych a bit with his natural ability of making a shot using raw power.
