Just lost his serve and Roger will now serve for the match.
Pospisil missed a lot of first serves but that's part of his plan as he was going for a higher 1st % win.
Question is, can he break here? I feel he's maximized his potential for this match right here. Federer is not going to let it slide at this point.
Dimitrov couldn't overcome the mental pressure yesterday. The home crowd, Baby Fed hype and Federer himself was just too much for him. At least Pospisil has experience playing Federer before in Montreal just a couple of months ago and that's very important; also, Pospisil comes without the pressure or any kind of nonsense hype.
But on the flip side, Dimitrov will now be powerful against Federer on the big stage now that this big hype and long due crap are behind him and will snatch the win, where it will matter more - for Dimitrov anyway. Though, at this stage of Federer's career it will be hardly a big deal. As I see it, this will be no bigger a deal than, say, Sampras vs Federer - the only match at Wimbledon these two ever played, where Sampras was only a shadow of his true self, but from Dimitrov's perspective, I suppose it will be a great boost of confidence - false or not.
del potro:
3 finals in 3 weeks.
Speaking of Del Potro, I did not understand the last 3 games of the 2nd set. lol. What a pathetic way to lose it but hey, we love him and he's human and prone to mistakes as well. It was a very quiet match come to think of it, especially if you think about the next match, where both brought a of energies. In the first match, the crowd reaction was barely there. Pospisil got a decent support from the crowd however so it was not all Federer though mostly because of him of course.
Pops did well for himself. he had a great tournament.
it will be great learning experience for him.
but you right. he reminds me a little bit of berdych too.
congrats to roger and his fans.
now he is just 1 win away from qualifying for London.
welcome back Nikki.
great to see you around. hope you are in the very best of health and the best of spirits.
I will swing by lady Emma's cafe later when I get home.

affirmative. spot on.
roger has way too much experience at this level or any level for that matter.
still a very good tournament for Pops.
I wish him continued success on the tour.
big heavyweight showdown is here.
it's del potro vs federer in basel.
roger definitely has the game to get it done.
the courts are relatively fast. let's see how it plays out.
ok I am ready to make a predicton:
I say roger puts together his best match of the week and takes the title. he takes it in straight sets.

good post emma. I think grigor has a bright future.
he has the size and he has all the shots. all that is needed is better fitness and consistency.
it will come if he is driven enough.
he is certainly getting the experience playing all the current legends of the sport.
Delpo takes the first set but Fed with a break at the beginning of the second. Fed is playing his best match in a long time.
