World No 1 Rafael Nadal says he expects his great rival Roger Federer to enjoy a bounce-back season in 2014.
Federer is considered by many to be the greatest player of all time, having accumulated a record 17 grand slam titles in his career.
However, the Swiss 32-year-old's powers appear to be waning and he failed to reach a grand slam final this year for the first time since 2002.
But Nadal, who has enjoyed a superb 2013, winning the French Open and the US Open, is convinced his old foe is not finished yet.
"I don't have any doubt that he will be playing better than what he did this year," Nadal told a news conference at the Paris Masters.
"No doubt about that. His talent allows him to keep being one of the favourites, to keep winning the best tournaments of the year.
Motivation
"His goal probably will be finish the year well and be ready to start well in Australia next year.
"If that happens, he will be one of the candidates to win the first grand slam of the season. That's something that really motivates him.
"I am sure that he's not finished. He will work hard in the off-season to be ready for 2014. I am sure he will be back playing great tennis again."
However, Nadal does not think Federer will be too worried about reclaiming the top spot in the world rankings, where he has resided for 302 weeks in the past.
"Talking about if he's able to be back or try to be back in the No. 1 (spot), I think it's not his goal," said Nadal. "Because, at the end, he already has been there. He has been in the top positions of the ranking for a long time.
"At the end, what really makes you happy is to go on court with the feeling you can win the tournament. That's probably the only thing that maybe worries him."

Airliner named for Novak Djokovic
BELGRADE, Serbia -- Talk about an airline that aims to serve.
Serbia's new national carrier, Air Serbia, has named its first plane after Novak Djokovic.
The name of the six-time Grand Slam champion is printed in large letters at the front of the plane. The Airbus A319 makes its first flight Saturday -- to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The company says its future fleet will carry names of 14 important living Serbs. Serbian media have quoted Djokovic as saying he's happy to help the company.
The plane features a double-headed eagle logo in Serbia's national, red, white and blue colors. Air Serbia was formed in partnership with Etihad Airways, which owns 49 percent of the successor to JAT Airways.

Hello all, sorry I couldn't be here yesterday. I had a very busy day but I did get to watch Federer vs Del Potro match and then a bit later, the 2nd set of Youzhny/Ferrer match. Needless to say I am very happy for both. The first result was never in doubt. In fact, I thought DP was going to snatch it in straight but then again, he got a bit too comfortable after the hard fought 1st set and Federer struck just in time. To Federer's credit, he was able to hold on to his break and kept the pressure on. I have to say, I felt very sorry for Federer. He's a legend after all and we all got so much used to seeing him winning. And now he's more like on a losing streak; still though, he made the final here so not too shabby for a very 32 year old.
I was over the moon with Youzhny's win. Felt really bad that I couldn't watch the whole match. I did like Ferrer's speech even though I did not understand a thing lol and it was really long, but I felt he was being very gracious and was probably thanking everyone. So 3 of the four finalists yesterday were either 31 or 32 years old. Not too bad for these guys since tennis is so physical these days. -

Herc darling, the forums is looking better and better. I love the front page. Thanks for all the hard work, dearest you've been putting in. Your dedication, loyalty and hard work will take you there where you want to be. Just stay modest as you are. That will be essential for you growth.
Anyway, I have a few more suggestions but those can wait until next weekend or whenever you have some time. You know, I really like the description of each thread on the main page, but since the 3 columns (description, number of posts and last post posted by posters) are of same width, so these descriptions are a bit hard to follow. I think you can shorten the width of the middle column where it indicates number of posts as well as the last post column half of their size and increase the description column.
Also, perhaps best to move all the tennis related threads together with other tennis related threads for consistency purpose and Emma's Cafe and Camelot lounge can move down a bit further.
Love the Off Topic section. Perhaps both the Dreams and Music threads can go there so that Emma's cafe can stand alone in that section. It makes more sense too.
I have more suggestions but perhaps you can start with these. lol -

it is a long process and a long road that we are on. you just know that we will get there somehow.
as I look at various forums, there is simply too much content and the are way too busy looking and stuff.
we will stay simple and elegant because at the end of the day people just long for simplicity.
when I was at mtf, I never bothered to get around. the place was just too damn big and all I wanted to do was relax at the castle and venture out the main discussion page a little bit. -

Yes, clutter happens when people open one too many threads so instead of having gazillions threads we can only have a few meaningful and fun ones. -

agreed. all you have to do is have a look right next door at tennis warehouse.
they have a few fools there who cant stop making threads about nadal and roger. one guy just cant stop making threads about nadal day and night.
that tends to clutter up the place and it also pushes aside the better threads.
at any rate we will figure it all out sooner or later.
we are a bit more organized now and people can move around in less than a second to anywhere at Camelot.
nikki must have been excited to see youzhny take that title in Valencia. she too is a huge youzhny fan. -

I think something like 15-16 titles have been won this year by players that are 30 years old or older.
that number goes up even more if you were to take doubles into account.
a 40 year old won the doubles championship at the u.s. open.
they are just working harder than ever before. -
