With the way things are going the Australian open going to be fun.Can Murray come back after this USO?/will Nole defend it?/or will Nadal hold 3 slams.Lot's to think about for the Australian open when it comes around.
now I will cheer for andy for the rest of the year.
nadal needs to ease off now before he ends up damaging his knee.
nadal has davis cup on clay next weekend which is ok. clay surface is forgiving so I don't think he can hurt himself on clay.

those are going to be exciting times again once the Australian open starts.
I think andy will be back. he has something to prove.
in fact I am picking andy to snatch WTF at the O2 arena. this loss at the open is going to force him to work harder than ever.
also this win by nadal will inspire him just as nadal was inspired by andy`s own win at Wimbledon.

I saw the wright up by J/Mac you posted,(thanks btw i'd not seen it).Andy i hope will get some rest, maybe as long a month out or more.Nadal will have to rest up & re charge his batteries, but will he,with the no1 so close?Nole i think will go away after this & will be fighting to defend the Australian open.
congrats to nadal, his family, and his team and also all his fans.
he showed the world today what he can do when he focuses and imposes his will on his adversaries.
I agree general sid.
rafa and andy will show up mighty hungry at the Australian open.
Australian open may be up for grabs now.
nole is likely to be inflicted with some self doubt after all these losses.
rafa has defeated him 22 times now and that is not an easy thing to do.

Andy never seems to do well @ WTF,i don't think i'd pick him on past years.Don't get me wrong i'd love to see him win,but i wonder on that one.Nadal was great tonight & top tennis players have to be inspired by his performance.Hurc it's very late so i will say goodnight, catch you later.
night general sid.
sleep well mate.
its funny how so many think that nadal is all about fitness.
and that he has limited shot making ability when compared to players like nole and roger.
you don't beat nole 22 times and roger 21 times if you have relatively limited shot making ability.
nole is the greatest mover the world has ever known. he gets to every ball under the sun. that does not mean that you have limited shot making ability.
what that means is that you have to devise a different game plan to beat the likes of nole.
and the objective is to win anyway. it is not a shot making contest.

agreed. nadal`s win tonight will inspire them all and force them to improve and work harder than ever before.
the sport is simply brutal today.
anyway best of luck to your player at WTF.
brutal battle yesterday at flushing meadows.
nole went for broke and netted 53 unforced errors in the process. and some of those errors came at exactly the wrong time for him.
I think there is a spill over cost from this loss that may linger on for a while.
and then you add that loss to andy in straight sets at Wimbledon. these losses are starting to mount.
now the big question is this: is nole the beaten man now who has lost some of his aura?
he still has WTF to defend.
