This will be a huge Davis Cup upset if it happens.
Argentina takes a 2-0 lead after Pella derailed Kyle Edmund.
UK back in business as the Murray brothers deliver.
Murray is about to deliver but I don't see how Kyle Edmond is going to derail Del Potro.
close but no cigar for Great Britain this time.
Argentina wins. Congrats to the Argentina Davis Cup team and their fans.
Yep General. Obviously Del Potro beating Murray was the big key match.
Brits were always going to win the doubles.
I was surprised Arg coach played Del Potro in dubs.
But it turned out ok anyway as Evans was just outclassed by Leo Mayer after the first set in the deciding rubber.
Andy is like a one-man team when they go up against a good squad. IF he somehow can't win all his matches and the doubles, they lose.
Respectfully,
masterclass
you are spot on general.
Andy had to deliver all 3 of his points in order for them to win.
congrats to D-Pot and his fans. his comeback is coming along well. he seems to be managing quite well with his sliced backhand.
and speaking of comebacks, lets hope Roger is the comeback player of the year next year.
I am looking forward to his return in 2017. this year's U.S Open was not the same without him.
Any good matches going on these days? Last good one I saw was the Delpo-Murray match, which was spectacular.
Andy slipped a little bit after Cincy but I think he will bounce back.
he has to fix his serve.
Nishikori attacked his 2nd serve no less than 39 times in that match at Flushing Meadows.
you just cant allow that to happen if you are a top player and if you are nearly 6 foot 4.

If Mugray had a good serve (especially second serve) he would have many more slams.
But he's also a mental midget a lot of the time. And he doesn't have the mental stamina that it takes to get to number 1 and stay there like Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic have.
He'll still probably be number 1 someday just be default, when Djokovic fades out, since there is no one else on the horizon.
that is one reason why he brought Lendl back. to help become more calm and more composed in difficult and clutch moments.
now we will just have to see how it all plays out.
but you are 100% spot on: he needs a better serve. both the first and the second.
and especially the 2nd serve which is a joke. lower ranked women can serve harder and better.

you are right about that. only way he can make it to the top is by being opportunistic:
he simply has to be ready to snatch the wins if djokovic is not around or if he is injured.
that is exactly what happened at Wimbledon. djokovic was not there across the net in the final.
so for that reason I have advocated that andy needs to keep taking his fitness to the next level and be ready if the opportunities present themselves.
djokovic is simply too good when he is healthy and in sync. Andy, on the other hand, can never be good enough to deal with the likes of Djokovic because he does not have a dominating forehand.
you need a dominating forehand in modern tennis to rise to the top.
that is really andy's greatest liability.
Kyrgios snatched a title in Japan. Derails Goffin.
And Rafa bags another doubles title but what good is it. I mean who gives a damn for these chicken
**** doubles titles.
he is an all time great singles player who is rapidly falling off the singles radar. why waste your energies and your focus on doubles.
it is just another one of my indicators. chicken
**** doubles titles are easy since you don't have to work much.
and hard work is the last thing he wants to do.
