What are the odds
Quiet day
Early morning walk
The sun was shining
You ran the Boston Marathon
Crossed the finish lines minutes
After the explosion took lives
Years later
Your need for early morning walk
On your own
Settle thoughts in your head
Dump truck tire
Flew off aimed directly for you
Kept you in the machines
Living dead
Kept alive for days
Your organs kept fresh for your donation
Your soul had already made its transit
Kept alive to save four lives
In need of organ transplant
You chose to leave
A vegetable in bed
Not an option

You passed sweet Diane
Chose to lay to rest with your Dad
Your souls connected
Many here are disconnected

Tornadoes of emotions
Downpour of rain
Stronger than the blood dripping
Out there on the plain
Lives fought to stay alive
Natures anger can't survive
Torrential stain
Streaming through all terrain
Sadness prevails
For all who've left behind
Contrusions hard for a safe mind
When bodies are ravaged
Young and old
Matters not your age
When the weathers raged

Loud screams of terror
Sweat soaked sheets
Facing my inner demons
Those I feared on the mirror
Arrogance unfolds
The egomaniacal
Blood I bleed
Many lives I concede
Family and friends I've chosen
Long before
My physical body placed
Push me out of the lulled story
Perfection destroyed me
Dark side masked by
The light twisted side
That's now history
Is it?
Excellence is resulting
In acceptance of
Success and failure
Pendulum swayed
Auric field dwells in ascension
Conclaves in descension
Paddling upstream is defeatist
Just let it go
Simplistic in actuality
