With a surge of energy
That felt like anger
Where minutes later
The sun broke, rain settled to a fine sprinkle
Evident of a rainbow
Yet when I walked under the now clear skies
As I faced the sun
One raindrop smashed against my forehead
It was your tear drop from heaven

Smiling as I felt evidence of your touch

As the sermon proceeds
A ritualistic ceremony
All deaths are rituals
Dipped with various touches of spiritual
Yes, we cry for the one that passed
Yes, we cry for what is unknown
Yes, we cry for the fear of mortality
Is all too clear
When the person who passes
Is very dear
To all the mourners
You travelled across the land
Both far and near

Shaken out of the reverie
Searching the horizon
As far as the eye can see
Doves of peace
Magnificently white
