CAMELOT FANTASIES

It’s started like small yet strong pellets
Then large unique fluffy white starlets
Centimeters transformed the city streets
In a captivating blanket of snow
Pristine as each snowflake cascaded through the sky
To settle on the city and it’s inhabitants
A deep cleanse took place
A collective sigh of relief
They had built up the anticipation
It’s arrival made me smile
Packing snow to make snowballs or snow angels
Whichever one chose, allowed the child within play time
Magic supplied by the heavens
By some grumpily negating
While others, like me
Happily finding it all fascinating.

Remarkable was the introduction
Incredible was the symbiotic energy
Indescribable we’re the emotions surfacing
Indelible we’re the etchings on my heart
Insurmountable the affectations involved
Noticeable everyone’s reactions

One of the coldest night of the year
Everything is frozen
One can hear the crunch of the ice underfoot
As the exhaust of each breath
Is making a cloud that surrounds my head
Searching the skies as the sun has broken through the clouds
To comfort us with some warmth
For the temperatures will be plummeting one more night
Barometric pressure has elevated a pounding headache
Shining rays of the sun is making things better
Praying for all some form of safety and love

As dusk breaks and dawn sets
Watching the cooing of birds
Settle all around as their needs are met
Water and food sweet souls
Wanting to care and give
It’s sometimes enough
At other times never enough
The leader takes flight
And all follow
Right or wrong
Fighting or loving they all belong
