Since when have you become such a big fan of Sampras, eh herc? lol Have I successfully and finally converted you then? But tell you what, if you had followed him the way I did then you would have been one of his biggest fans as well. I totally see it and he does have that great root of spartan that you so highly speak of. He was very gentle off court but could kill you with his eyes closed on court. He never cared who was in front of him and it never mattered to him. Deep down inside he always knew he was the superior player and a great warrior. After all, it was him who set the trend to break records and become the GOAT. Federer, Nadal are just mere followers. :)

And great pictures! You will see me on this thread a lot no doubt.

This is where he is aiming Agassi and having so much fun. Not really because I made it up but if you think about it, the idea is very funny. lol

good evening emma.

Camelot is crazy about the great greek destroyer.

looks like general tented is also a huge fan.

I think time had come for us to pay a tribute to the great pete Sampras. I am going to have to watch a couple of his old matches.

we desperately need a tennis video board here. I am hoping somebody steps up and helps us out.

you can just see that the readership is going up already slowly but surely.

a separate tennis video board will be of great value to us.

One of Sampras' signature shots. He had 3. His serve, his running forehand and his overheads. I like the best at 1:22. And I watched a lot of these on tv live. I very rarely missed any of Pete's matches if they were on TV to be honest.

If you watch this video on youtube, you will come across some comments by Federer fans. If I am to be really honest, this era has definitely created some of the worst fans in tennis history ever saw. At least in the 90s and prior to that, most of the fans were genuine fans of tennis but nowadays it's hard to be on forums without coming across fans who have no true knowledge of tennis and watch certain players only for bragging rights. Somehow they feel certain players success is also their own success. I wonder how many fans support these players for the true reason there is.

that is unbelievable actually. I never knew he did that many slam dunks.

that one against albert costa was out of this world. he must have elevated 32-36 inches for that one.

holy smokes. this dude was some athlete.

He'd do it quite often, actually. Whenever he got a chance he would go for it and he enjoyed it immensely. You can tell by the little smirk on his face right after but not always. He liked baseball a great deal but he wasn't tall enough to be a baseball player I suppose. But I am sure his real passion was always tennis.

Oh I should tell you this and my experience is first hand since you know I was at Murray's forum for almost two years. I have yet to find one Brit person who liked Sampras. They all hated him and they still do. They liked Agassi and they still do. baron britbox is no different i am sure.

And if you ask them why they didn't like Sampras then they will always give you this bizarre reason, 'he was boring and he was all  about serve'. Bizarre because Goran was also a big server but they adored him.

But the funny thing is now, a lot of them or at least 80% of them on the forum simply hate Federer but Federer also have a lot of fans from the UK. You can tell you when hear those loud voices at WTF. some of them sound quite drunk at times and I was told later by a fan who was there that a lot of Fed fans were actually drunk.
