You speak of such interesting things. Some of the subjects I find fascinating as well, but my journey has been tailor made for me. I know without a shadow of a doubt that I am where I am supposed to be.

It's difficult to explain Christianity in a way that many people would understand, because I find that many people who call themselves Christians are clueless as to what God requires of us. There is a big difference between being religious and being spiritual.

The stories that I could tell you.

I am of Muslim background and they don't believe in reincarnation. The concept of reincarnation was first introduced in Hinduism and Buddhism, two of world's oldest religions. It is said that "Hinduism is not just a faith. It is the union of reason and intuition that cannot be defined, but is only to be experienced." I believe that speaks volume.

So judging by my own background, I should only subscribe to my own faith but I am also a person of great curiosity. The God I believe in is not judgmental nor does it tell me how to live my life. I believe it has given me choices and free will to choose anything I want and whatever I choose, my reality will be based on that. In other words, if I end up being in, say, "Hell", it will be because of the path I chose - the path of darkness - not because God was too keen on punishing me. So as I see it, it is all up to me and not up to God. For all I know, God is only capable of unconditional love and it is made of all archetype values that I often speak of. It is not made of judgement or punishment. It does not care which path you choose to believe in it as long as you are a good person and you do good deeds. And even if you don't do good deeds, it won't punish you, you will punish yourself. It is the system and the rules that are in place just like the physical laws of the Universe but at the same time, it has the power to override anything since it is the creator. What you believe in is crucial of course since that will be your reality once you move on from this physical life. If you believe in nothing then once you pass on, you will be thrown into nothing, in complete darkness, but with the sense of knowing that you still exist or that your consciousness still exists even when you do not exist in physical form. That will be your reality as you have created for yourself when you were in physical form.

Anyway, I like both religions and science but they both have their dogmas and paradoxes and tend to be highly polarized. I am strictly spiritual and Quantum Physics is the only science I believe in because it's dogma free. I love Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, Muhammad, Moses all these historical figures and spiritual beings but I don't believe in the books. They've been all manipulated by the followers to create fear and false faith in people. At the fundamental level, it is all the same - they all talk about this creator called God and all being One and equal, that's all I can subscribe to. I don't believe in rituals but I believe in prayers and mediation because that's the way to connect to each other.

I do believe that in the near future - perhaps a couple of hundred years from now (or even less), both religion and Newtonian science will cease to exist and people will be mostly spiritual and will be far closer to the truth. It is bound to happen now that we are more and more paying attention to our experiences.

I was a member of Samprasfanz all my life and never come across anything so hostile before.

I think that I was a member of that group as well. Were they the ones who carried the banner from tournament to tournament?

Anyway, it was a great outlet and there was no bickering or childishness.

I even had a penpal from Germany we corresponded for a few years. It was fun.

They might have carried the banner I am not very sure. Who was this penpal of yours? I might recognize her. Do you remember the President of that club? Her name is Joy and she's now a member Murray's World, the forum that I talk about from time to time. I was in touch with her but then I had to leave as things weren't working out for me there. She had sent me quite a few PMs after I left but in order to reply those, I needed to log onto MW and I wasn't very keen on that.

Such a small world we live in, innit. :)

I was raised in the Catholic faith which lacked answers for me, so I converted, but it wasn’t a conversion that I chose, instead it was a gentle pushing and prodding that led me to a non-denominational faith of which I had no prior knowledge of.

I do not serve a judgmental God, although he is often erroneously attributed with that trait. God does not deny us freewill. He created satan which shows the depth of his leniency. We are all free to make our own choices and God does not tell us how to live our lives, he simply shows us those things which will make our path easier, but the choice is still ours. He understands that we are imperfect and cannot fulfill the law, but he loves us regardless of our frailties.

We should all be comfortable with the spiritual path that we have chosen and I am ecstatic over mine. I am grateful every day that he has chosen me to be a joint heir in his kingdom. I have tested his Word in my life and it is has been as he has said every step of the way.

I feel sorry for anyone who enters into any religion as a result of fear, because God denounces fear all throughout the bible. I'm grateful because I realize that God doesn’t need me. It’s me who needs God. I follow him because I love him and because he first loved a sinner like me. I'll be eternally grateful for that.

I'm also happy for you and glad that you have a strong faith that you're comfortable with as it is the most important decision that we’ll ever make.

Gosh, it was so long ago. I don't even remember my screen name, so there's no way I remember hers. Joy doesn't sound familiar, but I've never been able to keep up with too many screen names at a time.

I have another pet peeve:

people who drive on the highways as if they have no destination or are looking for beer cans.

they are the ones who cause some of the accidents.

That's one of mine's too, and those who hold others up on the street because they decide to have a conversation with their friends, and have the nerve to wave you around like you're the inconvenience.

I think sooner or later they are going to have to ban the use of texting while driving in bigger cities.

and now people have another addiction: they are watching movies, CNN, ESPN, Football games, and sports shows on their cell phones while they are driving.

people who are too damn lazy to use turn signals on the roads and highways.

You've been traveling too much lately. Good luck with all the nonsense on the roads and try to keep your composure. Even a short errand run brings numerous occasions to get peeved.

affirmative.

I know people that get so mad they start cursing while driving.

it is obviously frustrating at times when people are too lazy to use the turn signals but there is not much we can do about it.

I want to RANT AND RAVE......

When my husband passed away, I had no job.... I was a housewife.  With 3 children, and the eldest having a part time, I decided to start my own childcare and  it was enough to pay the bills and put food on the table, but I had to make do without many things and often made sacrifices to make ends meet. I had neighbors, the husband worked and made pretty bucks and the wife worked in a clinic.   Every day they knocked at my door, "Can I get some bread?", Can I get milk?", "Do you have any sugar I can borrow," (yeah...like you're going to bring me back my sugar)", "Do you have tomato sauce?"....it was endless, and I never said no.  They would come have coffee in the mornings.  There were time I even cooked dinner for them and their children!

UNTIL.....I find out that they were both working off the books, she was receiving Section 8 (a government program that pays a portion of the rent based on your income), she was on public assistance (which paid the rest of the rent that Section 8 didn't cover), plus they send her enough to pay her utility and cable bill......and they got at least 600. every month in food stamps.  Basically, what they earned in working was for their luxury of weed and high tech equipment. They were scheming the system!

And here I was struggling....and feeding them!  It really bothers me to see people doing things like this and getting away with it!

In time they lost everything...even their apartment. So.....they didn't really get away with it after all.

There are so many people like that. I worked with these two ladies. One lady was so sweet. Every day she brought lunch for all three of us. Sometimes I ate and sometimes I didn't because it felt like taking advantage of her, although she insisted. But, there were days that I had no plans for lunch and the food was there, so I ate. At any rate, whether I ate or not I brought her Coke and ordered pizza on Fridays to give her a break.

The other lady ate every day and had the nerve to complain even though she was getting the food for free. I just shook my head. So, one day Stingy brought in some chicken salad which looked a lot like the tuna salad (the best tuna in the world) Sweety Pie brought in.  So I said, "Oh did Sweety bring in tuna salad?" And Stingy who always ate pizza with us on Fridays said, in a nasty voice. "That's my tuna salad. I brought that in." I was like whoa, excuse me. But no problem because people like that are always in need because they put their wants first.

Stingy would go and buy perfume and pay exorbitant prices at the beauty salon (which she couldn't afford) and then bum money off of every one else. The money she paid for the perfume with had come from her daughter who gave her the money to help out with her rent.

One day she asked me to borrow $200 or she was going to be evicted. I had some extra cash and actually considered it, then I looked down at her Starbucks cup and the croissants she had bought from the pricey eatery next door and thought, uh no.

Well come to find out, guess what Stingy did? I still can't believe it. She actually claimed six kids as dependents, although she was 63 years old and lived in a one bedroom apartment. She did this for years and finally she got audited! She is now supposed to pay a hefty fine and prove that the children lived with her, which she will not be able to do.

People like this are infuriating. Sweety is still helping her get to work, feeding her, and helping her find a new place to live.

Personally, I am glad someone else is helping her, because I was going to. There are people who are total users and takers and they feel no remorse in taking advantage of others.

Bad fortune follows Stingy with one catastrophe after another, but she never sees the error of her ways. And you know what? She never will.

Some people live off their wits and they don't who they use to get their way.

Disgusting behavior.

That's what you call reaping what you sow.  In the end of all your deeds..... consequences will follow.  Those consequences, whether good or bad, depend upon what was planted.
