My rant for today:
OMG! I was so stressed out. I have had this computer for about a year and five months. It's never had all of its functionality. I once used the cd drive and after that one time it never worked again. The drive was saying that it was filled up and wouldn't allow me to do backups.
I can't hook it up to my printer, scanner, fax, which causes me to have to pay for services that I shouldn't have to.
I can't post pictures from FB and I was just tired of it.
So, I called HP and ordered tech support. The guy was very nice and sounded knowledgeable. He said I did have a virus that was interfering with my functions and he assured me that it wouldn't be a problem. So, I allowed him to do a remote. After he took care of the virus I could no longer get on the internet. He said that my cable provider was showing an outage. It was very late, about 1 a.m. and I was getting tired and evidently he was too. We had been on the phone for hours. He said he would call me the next day at 8 p.m. Thursday, so I said OK, because the whole situation had been very stressful.
So, the next morning after I got home I decided I didn't want to wait until 8 p.m. and called HP back. I explained that I had paid for the support and now my computer was fully non-functional. The cd didn't work, no internet access, the printer wasn't connected, basically all I could do was use Microsoft Word. Call #1
They sent me to the Total Care dept. They asked me how much I paid for the support. I told them and they said it was another dept (call #2). The new dept. sent me to another dept who said it wasn't theirs eithe (#3). #4 was for extended warranties, why would I want an extended warranty with this company when they can't correct their problems?
The sent me back to the 1st person #5. Who sent me to Total Care #6. Then, to conflict resolution #7. This went on until I got to #12. By this time I was livid. I don't recall being this angry, ever. They had the nerve to offer to refund my money, leaving my computer broken, which they themselves had broken it. I was so frustrated that I pulled the phone away from my ear and screamed, "get me somebody now. you have my money and you ruined my computer.
Finally, on #13 I hit pay dirt. The tech said that he could help me. By that time I had calmed myself down and was able to communicate effectively and finally we got the computer up and running.
The original tech who promised he would call me at 8 p.m., didn't. And at the end they tried to get me to buy an extended warranty. I advised that the next time I had computer issues I would take the computer outside and slam it on the concrete before I would call them again for help.
By the time it was over I was so exhausted, because I had spent a total of 9 hours on the phone trying to get my problem resolved.
I wish people would actually do the services that they get paid for. I cannot understand people who have no pride in their work.
