I saw his match last night.

he is playing terrible tennis.


there is a massive drop in fitness.

He should  not have allowed that to happen.

This can lead to more injuries.

I am just worried at this point.

His match against Kevin? I didn't think he was that off. Not Big Four yet, but that will take time. If he was able to come back and immediately be up tosnuff I'd think the Big Four theory would be proven false.

I in no way think he can win this year, nor do I expect it. How can someone come back and acclimate themselves with so little time playing real matches.

our warrior got demolished last night.


just goes to show so much clearly now the dramatic drop in fitness and his physicality.

his movement was off the mark and he had little or no power off the ground, let alone the consistency.

he won barely 10% of the points off the ground.


I am just too sad about it but not much we can do.

rafa has to find the hunger and the drive again.


I heard he did not even bother practicing his return of serve the last 2 days.


well it shows. he has to start making the sacrifices again if he wants it bad enough.

He went further than I anticipated. They said this only was his seventh match in six months. I didn't expect him to beat the number seven player in the world. I actually thought he was going to lose to Kevin Anderson. If Berdych hadn't beat a rusty Rafa, who came in on hard courts instead of clay, he wouldn't be a worthy number seven. So the loss didn't bother me at all.

Poor Rafa, the expectations are so huge for him. I hope he takes the loss in stride. Not many people can be off six months, do a few exhibitions and be prepared for a major, especially on a surface that isn't their best. It would be similar to Andy being off injured and coming back on clay. He would take some losses, and that's to be expected.

Anyway, I think he did good to get to the quarterfinals. And, I'm happy for Tomas. He's one of my favorites too, (not like Rafa), but I like him a lot. Plus, he had some great intangibles, getting engaged, new coach= renewed motivation.

Surprisingly, Berdych has a 6-4 H2H against Murray! I'm shocked.

Speaking of Murray, I was so glad he took the cocky Aussie down. Kyrgios reminds me of an overzealous puppy bounding all over the day. Andy was masterful. I sure hope one of them wins the title, Berdych or Murray. I'm not a fan of the other side. Which reminds me, I can't believe Stan beat Kei so convincingly in straight sets. What a disappointment!

Wow The Truth, I'm very surprised too to see Berdy leads the h2h against Andy.  Still, seeing how Andy played against Kyrgios I don't think Berd has much of a chance.  He was brilliant.

Are you really so dissappointed about Rafa's loss CD?, I'm sure it's not lack of motivation from Rafa, I've seen nothing to indicate that.  I am frustrated that he has to keep missing tournaments due to injury and then having to go through the process of coming back, missing cnahces that way too... we know Rafa's a very optimistic person, but this must weight on his too sometimes at least.

He has, but I'm starting to get a little wary of Kei. It seems like in the biggest matches he kind of doesn't show all the way up. It's like he's great throughout the tournament, but at the business end he doesn't look like the same player. Maybe it's me (I hope so). I really enjoy his game.

Wow! What a match between Serena and Madison Keys. I think Madison really is the future. I remember when they were hyping Sloane and I was giving them the side eye. Madison wasn't as consistent, but all the tools were there. She really brought it in this tournament and I am hoping that she keeps it up. I think she will because she seems very secure and confident. Some players talk and their talk doesn't seem real to me, but Madison believes in herself and I look forward to watching her in the future.

Still, my girl won so I'm happy. Now to get #19! That would be so sweet!

Long time indeed! I had been meaning to come for a log time, but I'm a procrastinator I'm afraid.  You'll be seeing me around more, I promise!

When I lived in the south some years ago we rented a house which had a horse in the "backyard" which was a big hill.  Sometimes other horses were there too, they were all really lovely.  One once got a bit inside the house and there wasa no way we could move her even a milimeter lol.

I see Andy won already!, damn, I was thinking the match was going to be today for some reason.  Oh well, glad for Andy, how did he play?.  Who do you guys favour in a final?.

and now for the title.

I don't know what happened with Andy and Tomas after the 1st set tiebreak, but he shouldn't have poked at Andy because Andy opened up a can on whoop@** on him. From what I gather Tomas was being a bit cheeky, alas, he should've focused on the task at hand rather than trying to play mind games.

His antics made it easier to vote for Andy without feeling torn. I hope Andy wins, he's such a classy guy.
