I saw this on FB and LOLed. People are so funny. A Rafa fan wrote this.

Rafa nadal an example for everyone

I hate Novak Djokovic : A lesson in sports-hate for the uninitiated ..

First , let me clarify , I don’t know Novak and I concede that it’s a very real possibility that he is not loathsome , he may be kind , generous , moral and good , he is an incredible athlete , for sure , and his tennis is among the best possibly ever , I’ve heard that he’s involved in lovely charity activities and may be a fine new husband and father ..

It must also be pointed out that I am , I think , a reasonable and not hateful person , I counsel peace and patience to my friends and warn them about the word ‘hate’ itself , No , we do not hate unless we are talking about sports , of course , Unless I am talking about Novak Djokovic ..

I hate him in that singular , irrational crystalline way of all sports-hate , I hate his cocky, arrogant swagger , and his rubber-band-man antics , I hate his stupid impressions , I hate his chest-thumping and his bug-eyed celebrations , index finger pointed aggressively toward the heavens. I hate his whining , his arguing , his drama , and his disrespect of the crowd , the way that he bellows and rips his shirt from his body , it all makes me shudder with visceral sports-hate ..

I can’t watch this man win , something he does very often , I snap the television off and huff around for awhile , distracting myself from a very clear and quivering hatred , I spend hours no , weeks , watching and rooting for him to lose , each fresh tournament , I find myself scanning the draws to see who might beat him this time , who must beat him ..

Believe it or not , I’m usually quite open and flexible about rooting for people , I like most of the players and I am curious and excited about the upstarts , the new crop , but much of my energy goes into rooting against ..

It’s irrational , I’ll admit , all players celebrate , they all whine and argue and kvetch , but give me Rafa’s passion filled fist pump boasting over Djokovic’s nonsense any day , and it seems I am not alone ..

This is just my opinion , of course, and it’s consistent with all sports-hate ; that is , it makes no sense at all , that is sports , and , with sports , comes sports-hate ( read for you) .!.!

‪#‎Nadal‬ Presser Quotes:

Press Conference: Rafa Nadal (ESP)

“The first six points were crucial. His services were great and it took me a while to be on my feet but then I played a good second set. I played a solid match, though I wouldn’t say it was easy. I think it’s important to react on time and that’s what I did”.

“I did good things and bad things during the match but given the fact Almagro beat me last year I have reasons to be confident. I think I kept a good rhythm but perhaps I need more strength and aggressiveness”.

“I obviously need to improve but I didn’t go through ups and downs so I’ve got a good feeling, just as I did last week”.
“Every player has his own values, his way to understand this sport. I have never complained about time or something the other player might have said. These last few weeks it looks like it’s more important whether a player takes 5 more seconds to serve than if he breaks a racket or says something inappropriate”.

“I was winning 63 51 so I wouldn’t say I was nervous at the end of the match, I mean if you are nervous when you are winning by this much you definitely have a problem. My tennis is great when I hit the ball with a drive, and it’s even better when my backhand is on point. My drive could have been better today but since it was my first match I’m satisfied with my performance”.

“Rublev is a good player and I guess he has great chances of becoming someone big in this sport but I don’t know how things are going to be so I can’t say whether he is going to be the next Federer or Nadal….but I guess someday someone will have to take over and he could be that person”.

“I didn’t talk to Fernando after his match against Rublev and I’m not going to be the one complaining about the younger generation. They have different manners that may seem odd to us but that’s the way it is. As long as it’s legal every player is free to behave to way he wants”.

“I’m in the third round of the tournament so I’m not thinking about the final, just
about tomorrow’s match: Rublev is young and has nothing to lose and Fognini already beat me in Rio. Fognini is extremely fast and makes difficult things look so easy. He can play at such a high level but then sometimes not so much….I guess he goes through some ups and downs, but either way he is such a tough rival given the fact he already beat me”.

I am out on the road.

Rafa is probably going to lose today.

He just lost his serve at love when he had to hold it.

He has lost 3 straight sets to fognini on clay.

This is not good. He is going to have work harder in practice and start putting in long days.

He is just a shell of what he used to be.

He has to dig very deep now to put this guy away.

Lost his serve again. He was serving for the set.

I am at a loss.

Should he struggle like this against Fog on clay at his own home soil.

This is bizarre. He has no consistency at all. He's down 1-3 in the TB.

1-4.

I thought we were in the third set, and it's only the third set.

It is over.

He is down 3-6 in the breaker.

This is what happens when you have short lazy practice sessions where you retreat to your backhand corner at every opportunity to hit forehands.

He won't change s thing. He is also worn out against Fog.

1 match and he is out in Barcelona.

Still in it but barely.

Facing too many match points.

Fog might make one of them.

So much for all that progress.

How come I don't see any progress at all.

Just lost 4 straight sets on clay to an absolute basket case that is Fognini.

Damn I am pissed. Rafa refuses to work harder in practice and he won't work on anything.

Oh well. You still have to look at the positives. If this doesn't wake him up, nothing will. I can't even explain what his problem was. He was breaking, but couldn't hold any of them.

Still, it's bad timing coming so close to the French, but anything can happen.

I noticed that he was landing the ball short way too much and he wasn't being aggressive hardly at all.

Fognini is a headcase, but he's a talented headcase who can take advantage when Rafa's spraying balls all over the court.

I was hoping he would win this, but the struggle continues.

Break point conversions 4/14.

And there's the match.

Rafa has a lot to work on, but I'm sure he'll do it, in time.

The French though, may be out of the question.

I'm preparing myself mentally.

What else can i do?

There are zero positives in losing 4 straight sets to Fog on clay.

Rafa was right when he said he is not the  favorite for anything.

And his uncle was right when he said Rafa checks out in the middle of his matches. He also said Rafa will need a lot of luck.

Well even luck won't help you if won't practice hard and start putting in 2-3 practice sessions a day.

And then you still have the fitness issue.

There was exactly zero need to vacation in Costa Rica and then waste 10 more days on account of Miami masters.

You just knew this was going to happen.

He had taken clay for granted because of his huge competitive edge on that surface.

now there are at least 20 players that can trouble him on that surface.

Fognini would have won no more than 3 games against fit and properly prepared Rafa.

Rafa also refused to go to Casablanca to get some matches under his belt.

This is not me talking. Some players are saying that Rafa look horribly out of form both physically and game wise.

At some point I will need to start writing this year off.

I don't think he is hungry enough anymore. He let it all go after that loss at the Australian Open.

Injuries took away a lot from too.

My day is ruined.

I incorrectly thought that we would at least take Barcelona.

Nothing less than 2-3 practice sessions will start to fix the inconsistency.

He has to work if he wants to win.
