Some other movies that are historical is Exodus, with Sal Mineo & Paul Newman. The original movie The Robe was based on the truth ov Christ and his robe, and those that died for it. The Sisters ov Madolyn is based on the truth ov history. Sands ov Iwo Jima is Another, Pt 109 was the story of JF kennedy. There is so many we could go on. You know my dears.

great stuff lady V. keep it going. I saw The Robe long ago but I have not seen the others you have mentioned.

Yes indeed it was lady jenny. Its hard for me to name a favorite since I have so many, especially when to true historical, thank you lady j m, this thread will live on historically my dear friend.

Lady V - I am really glad you are enjoying it. I know what you mean. I've always loved history, and I think it's wonderful when a well written movie with a great cast of actors & actresses can make it come alive. I am not sure I could pick an absolute favorite either.

Here is another movie lady j, I think you would enjoy"THE INN OV THE SIXTH HAPPINESS" it was about a youg women who wanted to do missionary work in china. GLADYS ALDERS was her named and she was played by INGRID BERGMAN she was a white women well known in china for saving over 100 orphans and taking them to a safe town in china during the Japanese  invasion pre world War II she was also known to be the first American welcome as a gov assistant in china, helping to get women to unbind their feet. Also helping in controlling a prison riot., and break out. This is a very well directed  and detailed movie I believe you will enjoy it as a tearjerker and romance movie. It was one ov my mothers favorite movies,she wore out 5 VHS tapes watching it. Enjoy my friends

Wow, lady V! What an inspirational story, and legacy, Gladys left behind. I will definitely be putting this movie on my list. I love these type of historical movies where the main character made such a huge impact on humanity and helped to shape the changes for the future of a population. Thank you for sharing and recommending it!

Rob Roy most definitely is a historical action film Clay. I remember being told the true story about it when I went on a cruise on Loch Lomond.

I just saw Rob Roy for the first time sire, I've been watching medieval movies on my demand, wonderful show my friend. Another I just saw was Iron Clad, another historical my dear, past templar protecting a castle with no templar back ups. Beautiful he did.
